Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...

There's a thread on the Propellerhead User Forum where somebody who claims to have discussed Rewire with Bitwig says they are probably abandoning it because they couldn't get it working right. I think that's a curious choice, and a pity if it's actually true. This being the internet there's no way t...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...

Well maybe the Bitwig guys were arguing in favor of a complete rewrite to implement record in Session View clips and a Linux version? I remember being told by someone from Ableton on these forums that to get LFO's to automate everything in Live it would take an almost complete rewrite. In fact a lo...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...

The reason why I have been saying they should split the session view is on this very spot. They can develop new software purely for DJing without need to bother daw paradigm. For some of us the bottom line is that Live allows us to do WHATEVER we want without having to be pigeonholed into a specifi...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...

What's wrong with Live being a Performance tool AND a Daw? I like having both in one program. Also Daw's are expensive. If you're going to spend that sort of money on an application it preferable that it can be put to different uses. Totally agree. And this has been the vision Ableton pursued very ...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...

checked out your soundclooud and always like to see classical trained folks. Not sure if they've made it over there yet but have you gotten a chance to play the vintage vibe's boards. Sounds like the best rhodes ever and looks like a wurly. Unreal feel to em. Check'em out!! http://www.youtube.com/w...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...

just thinking here, there are alot of les paul and fender strat copies out there. its hard to believe that the makers of these copies are getting sued. I think part of the *problem* here is that people genuinely expected something rather more interesting and innovative from Bitwig, not a derivative...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...

I really can't tell whether you guys would prefer more Live-esque features at the expense of appearing like a "rip off," or sacrificing those features and their benefits In an attempt to make Bitwig Studio more original/unique. I'm not sure if you can have it both ways. Well choosing your main DAW ...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...

I wonder if this thing will have the audio groove engine? That's one of the most impressive parts of Live 8 I think. I rather doubt that it will have a bunch of the stuff we know and love in Ableton Live... they will need to copy and sell more of Ableton's ideas in their version 2, 3 and 4 upgrades...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...

The mixer with sends, the matrix, most of the plugs (see the compresor!), the drum rack, the device view, the transport, the overall layout.. It looks exactly like Live! But then there is more selection tools, like a knife and a rubber, and lots of other nice improvements.. To me it looks more like...

And I say again: + Video support + Rewire support + AU support + MIDI effects + Groove quantise/extraction + Unlimited audio/MIDI tracks, instruments and effects + More than 3 aux send slots + "Gapless audio" engine on the fly + Launch Modes + Freeze + Automatic plugin delay compensation, and track...

re. the GUI. To me it looks just like: Fisher-Price "My First Live". And I say again: + Video support + Rewire support + AU support + MIDI effects + Groove quantise/extraction + Unlimited audio/MIDI tracks, instruments and effects + More than 3 aux send slots + "Gapless audio" engine on the fly + La...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...

Wow this is just Live with the features everyone's been asking for lol ...but with a heck of a lot of features from Live are missing here, let's be honest ;) Live 8 is a mature product, with plenty of third party support and a huge international user base ranging from bedroom musos to international...

Re: AAS Chromaphone

That's some interesting points. I must admit that with the Ableton AAS instruments I rarely venture beyond the presets... (although with Impulse/Sampler/Operator I feel fine experimenting with my own sounds...). I think that PM synthesis is slightly baffling to the uninitiated, and combined with the...
