there's a thread over at http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=91308 going on about logic and live. as i said there, i see them as different programs and good for different things. there is nothing more painful than composing in logic in my opinion. but i find it painful to do the final mix ...

i would imagine most people here already _have_ live ;p

you might want to try at a cubase forum or something, those people are probably dying for some software that doesn't actually hurt your brain to use.

I have used Glitch without issue. Sorry to not have a REAL answer for you... yes, i was obviously kidding ... but these kinds of things are nearly impossible to diagnose over a forum. other than making sure youre firewall has the anti-glitch module installed, the first recommendation would j...

i was talking about this to a sound-engineer buddy of mine just the other day, and the general consensus was that it's voodoo. (this is why such things as 2500€ EQ's exist: phase integrity)

if anybody has some practical thoughts, I'd love to hear them as well.

install menumeters and turn them on. watch your system performance. in terms of pure processing power, plugins can suck up your cpu, but if your hard drive is taxed that will cause audio dropouts faster than anything. you can watch disk, cpu, network and memory at the same time with menumeters, and ...

well, that's the problem. see the glitch plugin actually introduces glitches into the system to get that signature sound. if uses siglitchv (that's syscall 0x31337) to give your processor the hiccoughs, and sometimes it can't hold on to other programs - when the cpu starts tripping from all the glit...

do you have a sound card with a mini-in available? the drivers on a lot of the current crop of usb-devices are atrocious. try it over straight up midi-in (if you don't have an adapter, buy one. they're like 15€, though I suppose that's well over $1000 at this point, so if you're in the states you ha...

yeah, you can compare behringer kit to that one person in town that _everybody_ slept with at some point when they didn't have anyone better to do but essentially knew from the start that it was just temporary until something better comes along ....

There are conflicting opinions on this - I think the problem was pretty serious in the PowerPC days. I run a 2.16ghz 15" macbook pro on various screens, on a 23" Cinema HD now for a few weeks, and I do not feel that it's slower. However, if you are on a macbook you have shared graphic processing res...

if you're dj'ing with a midi control surface - don't look any farther than the faderfox dj2. purpose built for traktor, and works perfectly. don't even look at those dj controllers with big spinny wheels to cue tracks. Who fucking cues tracks on a laptop, right? In traktor, you just start them synce...

it's a store where they only sell stuff made in berlin. so they have lots of local designers and stuff like that whose stuff they sell, as well as all the great sound coming out of the berlin scene. they have events every once in a while with dj's and stuff anyway, so really worth checking out. (and...

Well, glad I could make someone's day! I'm actually still listening to your sound, on Running Away right now, enjoying the album a lot actually. (Hey! Other people that read this post!
