Hey Spenza, I'm halfway through this, and am enjoying it. A couple of comments: the treble would be _painful_ on a club system, and it's missing any real bass thump. What is the bitrate on the tracks you're working from? You may need to fiddle with the bass in general if they're 192kb mp3's or worse...

I've been experimenting with some similar stuff lately, and I can't seem to find a better solution than routing traktor and ableton together. I'm routing traktor out through ableton, but still in the experimental phase.

Are you using soundflower, or how are you doing the internal part?

(I hope that question is clear and I don't sound like too much of a git). It's fairly clear, though you sound like a bit of a git anyway! (just kidding) The Top 40-style charts are relevant in order to find out the flavor of the month. I don't usually like the tracks much, it's similar to pop music...

It depends on the month, but usually 100-200€. How long the tracks stay in active rotation* depends how good they are. My #1 floorburner is like two years old, but was never a huge hit and still rocks. Some tracks never get played, some turn into heavy favorites. *I play somewhere between elektro an...

I have one partially hacked out in XCode that I've been meaning to get back to for a while. It would be so ridiculously useful!

Can you code Cocoa? Want to hack it together with me?

in traktor enable "Send MIDI Clock" .... in Ableton under MIDI/Sync choose your interface and enable "Sync" to "On"

Is this not working for you? Have you used MIDI with Ableton before, do you know what to look for?

if we see vocoder as a midi-in-voice-out tool then i agree fully with minus points. that kind of tool is useless.

something like vokator or spektral delay that modifies voice-in-voice-out would be attractive. i would +1 that!

but who want's to do it for the money anyways? Nobody makes music for money (I hope) .... however, we are sensitive to the fact that if we get money for doing it, then we don't have to do other things like build and secure networks for multinationals and train their drones how to use them. There's something to be said for just testing if things work with the temperature, then adding moisture. (Not something I normally recommend for controllers)

What kind of temperatures do you have up there? It's like 32 degrees here in Germany now...

I have had success with speeds up to 56.8hz, however, negative side affects may be experienced significantly before 60hz, such as anal sex.

It's a fine line between clever and stupid young skywalker.
