Do you listen to much minimal? That's the first thing you need are role models. While not strictly in the genre, I'd still recommend listening to dubfire's space bird remix to get in the mindset. Having just finished a couple of (what ended up being) minimal tracks that I'm (unexpectedly) very pleas...

Yes! This too!

It's soooooo easy to forget things on your master. Much better to have a sum bus that goes straight to master.

Glad to hear you guys talking about this - I agree in general, but let me add one more thing: When you are preparing your tracks at -6db, or at unity, or at whatever you happen to choose for a uniform level, remember to do that (if possible) in a single place, i.e., make a single gain change rather ...

Another alternative might be to use the "crop" function for each sample slice in Sampler and drag the slices out of your temp recording directory. I'm not clear on where the soundfiles are coming from, but I plug Ableton channels into each other all the time to do this. I do it because there's no r...

I've never had any issue with the FaderFoxes - love them to pieces. Played a gig two Saturday's ago with no problem.

I've never had problems with them - they're the one piece of kit that has always just _worked_ - but I wish the best of luck!

The subject you're looking for is the art of the mixdown. As Ethios says, there is far too much information to just spew it out, but if you go after that term: MIXDOWN, you can pretty quite far just reading! We're here when you have specific questions.

First off, you'll never be done with 3rd party plugins.

IMHO, none of the FabFilter stuff is that great. It's well arranged, making it intuitive to get cool sounds, but nothing thaaaaat special.

If I were you I would get Komplete 5. That will set you up for life - or as close as you can get.

In the System Profiler, (upper left, apple -> about this mac) you'll see under the battery a number of charge cycles. I don't know what the magic number is, but Apple guarantees that they work for a certain number of charge cycles.

I have a DJ2 which I use all the time, it's pure MIDI so Live just needs to see the card it's attached to. Do you see that in Live?
