filter plugin recommendations

can anybody recommend a nice housey style filter plugin. if possible a free one. i'm currently using Kjaerhus Audio' classic filter but is a little heavy on the cpu. any advice.

when using scenes i drag around 6 clips of the same file in. 1 will be the whole song the rest will be loops. there all in assending order. that way i can scroll up and down the scenes with the midi controller and start clips. i use four tracks. two main mixing tracks. two for perc loops or whatever...

I'm looking at buying a rack mounted firewire interface. i've narrowed the search down to the motu or the presonus so far. whats your opinions on these two units any good/ bad vibes, level of tech support etc. any feedback welcome.
