Re: when will sampler time stretch!

Make your own timestretch and pitchshifter - its really, really easy. 1. Load a sample 2. Set up a tiny loop at the start (like 20ms or something) 3. Map 'Sample Start' to a macro knob 4a. Play a note and use your controller to sweep the sample start macro. Instant playable timestretch. or 4b. Draw ...

Re: Ableton Live 8 - External MIDI sync bug / issues

Its completely and utterly fixed when you use an Innerlock Sync-Lock or Sync-Gen Pro. I don't work for them by the way ;)

I'm running an Octatrack, Machinedrum and Ableton and the sync is spot on every time now. It was pretty hideous beforehand.

Re: Best laptop for Ableton Live - on stage performance

I'd go for a refurbished 15.4-inch MacBook Pro (2.3GHz Quad-core Intel i7) from the Mac store - usually around €1000 and reliable as hell.

Then with some money from gigs I'd stick 16gb in it and an SSD for a couple of hundred euros.

Play past a clips loop point (if next clip is cued to play)

Ideally a launchpad or Push on session view: if you could set a clip up so that once another clip on that channel has been cued to play then the currently playing clip would continue to play past its loop point until the cued clip starts. For instance, if you have clip triggering quantisation set to...

Re: [updated with video] Mod sequencer for LP & M4L

I've just found this thread searching for machinedrum-like control of Live - unfortunately lofimassakah.net appears to be down. Does anyone have a copy of this m4l device or anything similar? It looks pretty handy :)

Re: Where can I find options.txt on Live 9.0.6 (OSX)

Cheers! Think I'm still missing something though - all I see in this folder is the following folders: _autoupdates Contents> _CodeSignature _Frameworks App-Resources info.plist LegalAnddOCS MacOS Resources Do I need to create a preferences folder and drop options.txt in there or just drop options.tx...

Where can I find options.txt on Live 9.0.6 (OSX)

On Live 8 on my PC I had an options.txt file set up so that I could map macro's to siblings on drum racks with a couple of clicks. I've moved over to OSX Mountain Lion and need to get this set up on Live 9 - however I can't track down where I should be saving the file. I've googled and found that op...

Please check 9.0.3b2, we've added a preference, which you can also switch it he record button context menu: it reverts the shift click and regular click behavior of both record buttons at once.

Kind regards,

Re: Live 9 is great...BUT.......

I'm surprised to hear about crashes on an MBP. I have happily run Live 9 since early beta on a Mountain Lion MBP quadcore 2.8ghz with 16gb and an SSD and so far I have had 1 crash, which I believe was down to a beta of Diva which has since been updated (and I have used Live 9 a lot!). The only chang...

Re: Who has dared to follow their Ableton passion?

1. Buy a dictophone and hum your drum and melody ideas into it at work when you are struck by inspiration
2. At the end of each day import these recordings into ableton 9 and hit 'audio to melody' or 'audio to drums' and save to a stockpile of clips
3...

Re: Real time pitch shift?

if we're on the subject of pedals... this one I crave,,, http://www.themusiczoo.com/PDGImages/Eventide_Pitch_Factor_576c.jpg Nice! The new Whammy DT's have midi in so you can change the pedal's interval range and key mid song. Very tempted to get one and use it on all sorts of unsuitable source mat...
