Dunno. Mine went back before 1.6 came out. I'd be reluctant to buy either unless you can try it with your computer for a while to see if anything weird happens. Not an ideal purchasing situation though.

I had no end of Firewire audio problems with the Zero 8 when I had a review model. Didn't get anywhere when troubleshooting. Computers and Firewire audio can be a bit hit and miss. For what it's worth, a Mackie D4.Pro had absolutely no problems using Firewire audio at 3ms ASIO buffer size on the sam...

I'd definitely go for Shure m44-7/g for using Serato.
Like dCross says, a specific non-dj cart for recording is probably a good idea too (Shure m97xe is nice).

I've reviewed a few of the popular solutions over at www.skratchworx.com I still don't see anyone beating Serato for absolute stability, latency or scratch sound - but there are some good alternative products if you want or need different features. As of yet there is no slick way of integrating any ...

For what the 57SL does - it doesn't really need USB2.0, so what's the point of having it?

I'm not a big fan of vinyl, not sure about downloading .wavs.
I'd like to see most tracks getting a proper cd release - simply for the properly stamped disc, case and artwork. Much easier to visualise and flick through your collection IMO.

For cd units, the Numark CDX is the only truly realistic unit for those who 'really' scratch.

Otherwise, yeah - Serato is the king.
I'm definitely going to make a load of pre-warped scratch samples one of these days.

I can't seem to get separate audio ouputs to ASIO channels within one sound card. It suggests you need a separate sound card for every output. Seems silly but can't work it out. Meh. I give up!
