Re: Getting automation from Arrange View into clips in Session
Good post ken, this is exactly how I've been doing this for some time now.
It's a shame some people can't see past the fact that Live can't record clip automation in session to see that this is an excellent workaround.

Re: Live music is killing music!
Making music over the past 35 years has been most rewarding, frustrating, interesting and most disappointing thing I have ever done. It is like a fucking cancer...eating away at my brain....if it is one thing I have learned is...being above average and more than adequate does not a success make...w...

Re: edit midi in the arrangement window !!!!...please !!
Yeah, you can do this already in the clip view pane whilst in arrangement view. If you've recorded drums (or whatever) into arrange, either from session or by playing in directly, you can double click you clip to open the clip view and edit the midi in the piano roll there. If it's for fills, etc, y...

You didn't ask a question!Major Tom wrote:sorry but.....that does not answer the question
I'm curious as to why this would be more useful than editing midi in clip view... What could you do in the arrangement pane that isn't catered for in the piano roll editor?

Re: Is Ableton dead?
In a word, no. I've been using Live 8 since it came out for live performance and finished about 30 studio tracks in it. It's crashed maybe 5 or 6 times in that 3 years and always due to 3rd party VSTs. I'm pretty sure they're working on a ground up rewrite for Live 9 which is a massive undertaking a...
