Re: LFO everything 1.6 ....... faster, simpler, cleaner !
i find it interesting that juliens response to this is to quite rightly strip out the offending code and replace it with his own. However, in so doing, he attaches a cc-by-3.0 license, which is exactly the license he failed to follow. No one should have a problem with taking open source code and re-...

Re: Loadbang while toggling between max editor and live device
so this is relevant to something i have struggled with. I have a m4l patch that uses a hi object, works fine, but sometimes the patch will stop responding to the hid device. I don't get this behaviour when i have the patch open, but if i have the device saved in my live template, it won't work until...

Re: M4L device to control "Original BPM" and "Seg. BPM" field?
ive got a live buffer manipulator m4l patch coming out, and has something akin to that, in that it has a fiddlable playback speed knob which feeds into a control for the groove~ object...the issue there is that it will repitch, not timestretch...we can all hope that the elastic~ guys will make good ...

Re: Load clips into ~buffer
yeah, i looked into it too, but the ms pinky patch is fairly arcane from my perspective. I agree, it would be wonderful to be able to load clips into buffers on the fly, rather than having to stream audio from a clip into a buffer live...

Re: Playing pre-recorded parts in sync with live band (no click)
if you feel like getting deep into it, you could make use of the max/msp external bonk~, which does transient detection, and a drum mic, feed in the audio of your drummer, use it to tap tempo into live. It's not going to be perfect, but for rock rhythms, maybe good enough...

Re: A better Live API?
the question is: what are you trying to accomplish? There are certain things the existing api can do well, others less so. A more detailed problem description may be helpful. What aspects of osc are holding you up? Its a fairly flexible paradigm, imo...

Re: Shouldn't there be a section devoted to The Bridge?
im not too interested at the moment as theyve only come out with the bridge via scratchlive, so dvs only. Once they introduce itch support, i plan on trying it out with a numark v7, but not too interested in lugging the vinyl version...

there's no need to give out your regular email to register. You're all technically savvy enough to make a dummy spam-hungry email account, or indeed one of the many temporary throw away addresses available. Email registration (as has been mentioned) keeps bots from eating up bandwidth (that is paid ...

Re: petition: tighten move playing position in M4L
its just frustrating, because it really shouldnt be any different from manipulating a buffer. Its a clip for crissakes, a prerecorded buffer that is already sitting there unchanging. The chucker object has really tight timing, and all its doing is playing out of a buffer... anyway, back to the drawi...

Re: petition: tighten move playing position in M4L
So, ive received this tidbit in the interim: A suggested workaround for the time being: """ Tell your colleague that he has to put the samples into RAM-Mode to get consistent results. Also, calling absolute position jumps through MFL is actually not a very good idea, since the playing clip will get ...

Re: Feature whishlist for the LiveAPI
"the move_playing_position call should allow for absolute positioning in the clip, rather than the relative behaviour it has now. As it stands now, it is not possible to consistently and repeatedu; jump to a specific place in the clip. I want to be able to map a row of 16 buttons to 16 divisions of ...
