This thread has been the perfect thing to end my work day. Although I got in shit for laughing so hard at my desk, it was very much worth it. It's funny to see how far people will go to try and dig themselves out of a hole. It's also funny to see people trying to pull the wool over hundreds of other...

If you find a good tutor, please let me know!! I am also looking for someone to teach me music software. I am unable to read manuals, and am also unable to read free forums, online tutorials, and watch free video tutorials. I am only able to pay about $60/hr as I am a street person. PS Could I still...

cool, that is kind of what i was thinking, but wasnt sure. In essence, you are playing back a -very- minute sample of audio. I wouldnt think it would matter which sampler you play it back on as they generally process it all the same. It might be something else like converters or filters? other than ...

heheh, there is nothing wrong with my samples. The problem is the delay introduced by lookahead VST FX plugins that I have on the master buss... and yes, I really do want to keep them on the master bus and not export my tracks to another DAW :) I do use sample delay on other tracks internally to com...

Huge agreement for this one. I just found out that 350 mb of drum loops i exported all have a 20-30ms delay on the start of them because of this!

I now have to go and manually trim all of them now because the ms varies slightly and i cant afford to chop any transients off if i batch trim them!!

rendering with plugs on the master

Hey guys, I'm working on a sample cd project at the moment and have started using ableton for all the work involved. (Cuz loops are what Live is really good for :) ) I have some mastering plugs on the master out to add some sparkle and have just found that I've lost a ton of work. It's my own fault,...

Also, I know that you can move tracks forward in arrange, but how would you get them to start later in session?

ok, umm, thanks. mp. Another option is to put the same plugs on both the original and doubled tracks. Leave the settings flat on the original and do what you need to do on the double. The delay should be identical for both tracks and you don't need to manually measure (some plugs will tell you delay...

saving as template only takes effect when you open a new Live set, it does nothing to your existing open song or previously made ones (unless one of your previous songs was saved as the template :) )

Tips on dealing with Plugin delay

Anybody got any tips to dealing with the timing delays introduced by using VST effects? Or any VST fx which are good, but introduce minimal delay? I tend to have one track with sampledelay on it that i route all my non VST FX tracks to, and then the ones that do have fx all get routed to the master....

Nope, im sure there is no option to decide how many revolutions the BCR takes before it reaches the maximum. In cubase you can define the top-bottom ranges of the integers, however in Live ye can't. I -think- that is one of the main problems for this, um, problem. :) Allow myself to introduce... mys...
