Re: Ableton live 8 & Akai MPK Midi

Again, all this stuff is great - makes the MPK mini a blue hand controller. Just curious to one thing, as I haven't been able to decipher the logic behind which knob or value the controller (having got it to follow this script) grabs the different knobs. On most "macro control" devices, it seems tha...

Re: Ableton live 8 & Akai MPK Midi

Oooooh yes! davidjetson   8O :D :P Your UserConfiguration rewrite thing worked like a charm. This took me five minutes to do. The instructions are beautiful and it feels like the MPK mini turned into a €45 Maschine. I'm so happy. Thank you. Anyone experiencing problems with this, make ...

There's been reports of power issues with the LPK25 with the iPad, that's all I know.

Re: BPM detection, making quick edits for DJ purposes

To elaborate (and bump) when using "Warp from here", how do you get Live the correct song BPM to work (warp) with? Along with reading the manual, here's one of many tutorials I found on warping. Do you know any that are better still? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waLeq8-2UBo&feature=related Still, ...

Re: BPM detection, making quick edits for DJ purposes

Not sure if I'm missing anything but can't you just change the tempo in the clip properties before you start warping, if you know what it is? Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding, it's Friday afternoon ;) That's ok! Thanks for offering to help. So I import a song. I deliberately took this as it is ha...

BPM detection, making quick edits for DJ purposes

Been looking for a clear and concise way to get those great looking, two-decimal BPM values for songs I drag into Live, to reflect the actual beat of the music. Currently, when making an edit of a song, I first get the BPMs in bulk from Serato. Dragging songs into Live, I rename files to have BPM fi...

Re: White Noise

Not sure you can call the way I got Operator on there as on the same drum rack pad http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/6925/wrongnoisetrig.th.png Expanding the drum rack snare sound and throwing it on the way I did here.. not the right way to parallel chain. How is it done right? set the envelope to a ...

Trig White Noise along snare sound

How is this best done? I got a Flatpack snare (606_SD) that needs some white noise with each trig. I tried dragging one operator into the device chain. How do I get the snare to play Operator's white noise?

Is Operator what you'd use for this?

Re: Ableton live 8 & Akai MPK Midi

Duh.. activate remote on Input: MPK mini from Preferences Midi/Sync. A little confused that there are two inputs from the MPK MINI Editor (1 and 2). I have these set to Remote Off, and Track On. Is one MPK Mini Editor for pads, and the other for keys and knobs? What exactly does Ableton receive from...

Re: Ableton live 8 & Akai MPK Midi

Hi, Here is a link to a demo set with the 4 programs each assignated to a track, it helped me ia lot ! http://www.soundware.co.uk/news/2010/11/30/akai-mpk-mini-control-map-for-ableton-live-8/ I tried this template. While Live receives midi when I turn the knobs (incivated upper right corner), I am ...

Re: Ableton live 8 & Akai MPK Mini

Problems using the Editor software for MPK Mini Ok so the keys work fine and in a predictable manner, right out the box. The octave buttons on the hardware work. It plays whatever channel I activate for midi input. Here is what I'm not getting. Knobs to send midi I would like knobs to be able to se...

Re: Ableton live 8 & Akai MPK Midi

Also looking for setup advice for this. At one point the MPK Mini Editor software asked me to make a selection I couldn't fully read because the box was too constrained. It listed the midi out of my Motu soundcard, and three different choices all referring to some "USB...." (again, this is what was ...
