Re: The truth about abletons audio engine part II

looper doesn't work very well for me but really. live sounds so dope, and if you got probs make it in abes, make buddies with a guy with tubes, then track them to someone else's protools. gosh I did it, blasphemy. urban studio legend tells of rad professionals spending 30 minutes tweaking an eq just...

Re: Looking for a user friendly synth that has alot of potential

maaaaaaaasssiiiivvvvveeeeeee is pretty cool. pretty darn cool if i do say so, mopho is too but not user friendly by a long shot. after saving presets that are close to what i'm usually after in fatty analog bass it's a dream, but before that it wasnt't ;)

Re: I need some gear!

apc 40, and any of akai's tiny controllers. I love my lpd8, doesnt compare to my worn in 2000xl pads, but unless i'm touching both at once i never ever miss the difference, lpd8 is great. apc40 too man, i was reluctant to even try one for at least a year after they came out, now mine's the center of...

Re: analog isn't really doing it for me..

operator +++ for realz, and massive. I used to be so not down with vsts (other than operator ;) ) until I discovered massive. It's fun, totally aggressive nasty bass stuff, especially when you up the voices (they call it "unisono") also, i don't love my mopho every single day, but i do today! It's s...

Re: DSI Mopho issue when playing with midi controller - Help

if your akai controller is doing it too then i donno. my computer keyboard midi acts weird often, but mopho's midi usually isn't. you could try checking the globabal parameters in the mopho menu and make sure a bunch of ccs aren't getting accidentally transmitted and changing parameters of the sound...

white noise does contain harmonics. it contains every frequency, at equal amplitude, averaged over time.

little thing, i know. I'm a jerk

Re: Recording a skype interview with ableton and soundflower?

totally easy, you're on the right track. make ableton's input soundflower (2 ch),ableton's output your speakers, and your computer's main output to soundflower (2 ch) that way everything that comes out of your computer, except for things in ableton, will be piped into ableton. i use it allllll the t...

hardware synth patch editors need emulators!!!

so yeah, wouldn't it be great if say, the dx7 and mopho editors had emulators. you could sit on the couch with your laptop and make a badass sequenced patch or whatever, then when you get tired of how it sounds shitty, load it up on the mopho and have a blast. i also want something like, hand sized ...

apc40 and Ni massive mapping shtuff

why can't i map midi to the steps in massive's performer or step sequencer modes. that's really lame, apc knobs on that shit would be alot of fun. what's a fellow to do?

Re: wobble bass with mopho

lfo on lowpass with major resonance, 4 pole fasho. mopho is a beast, but i've got to say if you have operator it totally wrecks on the mopho for wobble. i love my mopho for rad 80s curtis bass and wiggly analog leads, but synced filter stuff is not one of it's strengths. that being said the filter s...

Re: Producing music like Flying lotus, Toro Y Moi, Prefuse 73..

obvs sidechain, and its so dope! i dig the same shit, i've been using chorus and pingpongs and filter delays on sends and all that a lot lately, you can even sidechain them too, makes it real spacious and sweet. another thing for groovy percussion is to warp a hi hat loop totally off, but still repe...

Re: FM8 or Operator

operator rocks so hard. it doesn't totally sound like a dx7, but neither does fm8 really. operator can act as a badass subtractive synth too, with the different filter modes and the waveshaping. great for drums and percussion and nasty low stabs. automation can really make it come alive when you hav...
