Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...

Hey everyone - as much as I too love GIFs, let's keep this civil. No need to go insulting each other's music. Yes, lets get back to summing busses and rumors please. I hear Bitwig's summing bus was made in conjunction with 3Phase and contains licensed 3PhaseTron™ technology. 3PhaseTron™ eliminates ...

Re: finally... BITWIG STUDIO! beta soon...

This might not be Live 9 , BUT I'm sure Ableton will come out with loads of cash and buy them.

Re: Vst or keyboard synths?

In the computer music world, there are basically two kind of instruments : samplers & synthesizer. - for samplers a VST is (almost) as good as hardware, after all, both are digital. In this case, I guess everybody will agree Kontakt from Native Instrument is your best bet. I tried a few. Then got Ko...

Re: Will I survive just fine with Ableton Suite?

I think you can't get sylenth's fresh resonance sound from Komplete's lineup. There may be a little hope that FM8 will have chance but I don't expect much. You can see what I am saying if you listen each samples. TBH, I prefer by far your work in FM7 and Massive than your work in sylenth ! lol (you...

Re: Will I survive just fine with Ableton Suite?

Also don't overlook other alternatives Omnisphere, HALion sonic, and so on ... I was taking Komplete as an example because it's probably the best bang-for-the-buck out there, but there are many many VSTs :) Your question was : "Will I survive just fine with Ableton Suite?". IMHO : no and it's overpr...

Re: Will I survive just fine with Ableton Suite?

To me it's a no-brainer, find a way to get 150€ extra and buy Live 8 download and Komplete 8. You will never look back. EDIT : unless you don't want to make music, but want to make minimal, you'll find a ton of blip sounds in suite  I guess that blip sounds part is one of the reasons I pos...

Re: When is Live 9 coming?

Would like to see a better/classical way of using the arrangement view also. sometimes I want to go there since I am used to is of past sequencers, but it feels like missing to much to get it done there... In the arrangement view ? Like what ? What I miss the most s definitely a decent set of MIDI ...

Re: Will I survive just fine with Ableton Suite?

a heap of kontakt instruments - komplete (or more specifically the kontakt intruments) are probably my most used intrument collection. Komplete is a huge and potentially daunting collection, but for me - I could be quite happy with only Live and Komplete 7 and especially 8, whereas I wouldnt be hap...

Re: Will I survive just fine with Ableton Suite?

I have live 8 suite boxed, and Komplete 7. I never managed to get anything I liked out of suite. Maybe it's me, but I never had this problem with komplete. This is even more true if you consider making non-electronic music !! Seriously, how can EIC, Session Drums and Amp, compare with Battery, Konta...

Re: Komplete 5 399 .. is it worth it?

Guys, I just had it up to here with Native Instruments, their hare-brained copy protection schemes that register one thing and trip up three others. I'm kicking everything NI outta my studio. Komplete, Kore, major sound libraries, you name it. it's so going, it will leave condensation trails in the...

Re: Linux version?!

Thanks, your point of view is interesting. I played the devil advocate because I also think Linux deserves better audio software. However you don't really address the point of making money with open source software when your software isn't addressed to businesses :)

Re: Linux version?!

I think the whole point is just there's no profit to be made on linux. That's a kind of chicken and egg problem : there's no software available on linux so everybody uses windows/mac os . Everybody uses windows/mac OS so no one wants to develop software on linux :( Oh and I see your point about free...

Re: Reggae/Dub - MIDI Drum Techniques

1 - since GOOD reggae fills are kind of random, drawing them in has been a challenge. Drawing them on a 16th note grid makes them sound INCREDIBLY robotic, which is anti-groovy. But, I know it's been done before to sound great - any old dub records show this. Does anyone have any advice for this? D...
