So, as you can obviously see, this works for midi parts too. I like recor...

Great post, electropoet - very useful! Couple extra points...in this set-up you are limited to basically 12 tracks because there are only 12 notes per octave...and about 10 scenes as there are only 10 or 11 octaves. There are certainly other ways to set it up though so be sure to experiment. I get ...

http://farm1.static.flickr.com/124/408357630_7c9d6cd02c_o.jpg Hope this helps. This is an example of how I do it. Getting the Midi clip set-up to trigger the actual scenes was the original subject of this post and is explained in the original post...it may be a bit confusing at first, but if you fo...

and by the way...i've always found Live's midi capability to be pretty poor...hard to sync with external synths, quirky looping, no patch changes, latency, etc...except for the IAC looping trick...midi in live is not important as far as I'm concerned.

...For synth and piano, to give the illusion I am looping what I play, I simply play the part once live once, and then have the korg's sequencer play a pre-programmed part that is the same when I'm ready to switch instruments..... It is kind of like lip sync-ing but with loops. That being sa...

Hey man...I'm still using a poor old 15 inch G4 powerbook (1.33GHZ), which I find to be reliable enough for my live shows...with a couple caveat's. Firstly, Live 6 is unusable...don't know why, but it is simply too much for my powerbook. Secondly, I do not use any midi sequencing whatsoever other th...

This right here is the single greatest tip on this entire board. If you are a dj then you can probably ignore it. If you are a live musician who wants to use Live as a glorified echoplex/AKAI MPC/Roland MC-505/808/909... ...then this is the tip that will revolutionize what live can do for you. perio...

My set-up is designed to minimize latency to the max extent possible. For me that means direct monitoring everything through an outboard mixer...if run audio through a computer, then the latency will have to be set very low in Live's pref's and you a) can't run as many tracks, fx, soft synths, etc, ...

My response would be to get a better mixer. I'm using a Mackie 1642 which has 4 aux sends and 4 mono sub outs. This would (in my estimation) fix the problem. 1) You send the house PA your main out from the mixer. 2) You gain stage the mic at the mixer input and then use the aux sends to add effects ...

I don't think you have to reinstall...although it probably wouldn't hurt. This happens regularly...I'm pretty sure you can get info about how to fix the situation from the web faq's...i think basically your install is just looking in the wrong place for the preset...can't remember exactly what i did...

no...that is a mess up. did the ping pong delay have available presets for the first track. If not, then your presets (live-packs) are not installed in a place where live can find them. If so, then this may be a problem with the install or a bug...but I always have all the presets available, all the...
