Re: Is it possible to browse and load clips?
Just found out that when you do have an clip load and you look at the Clip mode settings on PUSH you can move the start and position points by smaller increments by holding the Shift key. I saw that worked for BPM in the manual but not for clip times. Nice.

Clip Time Remaining
Maybe you want to see how much time is remaining in a selected clip from Note mode just before you record a new part? I discovered that if you are in Session mode and hold Select and press a clip to get Time Remaining you can keep the Select button held down and switch to Note mode and the Time Rema...

Re: Ableton Push: Questions & Answers
Hi Ableton! I wonder would it be possible to get the SELECT button to latch with a quick press, like REPEAT and ACCENT? I see that SELECT and a drum pad enables to user to either nudge note lengths and/or adjust velocity for all notes triggered by that particular pad simultaneously. The problem is t...

Re: Cleaning The Push
Ah yes i have much problem with the synths vs cat hair..dust (we live in a country home in the forest). I use a vacuum cleaner with a soft tip today. I use this for my synths as well (and an old soft toothbrush to coax the dust out of the crevices before vacuuming) - I use a low wattage setting on t...

Re: Un-equal pad sensitivity in NOTE mode
Hi, The per-pad velocity setting in Seq mode (via Select + Pad being held then Vel adjusted) is ONLY affecting the triggered NOTES which are a part of the current sequence pattern by the respective pad and NOT that pad's own sensitivity to -physically- applied velocity. So in this regard, the drum p...

Re: Custom Drum Racks
Also, use your built-in "Drum" Rack functionality of MIDI note trigger assignment to create a melodic step sequencer using instruments capable of pitch in the pads instead of drum samples. Need a bassline step-sequence in PUSH...no problem. It's always been there. You can even make split-layer instr...

Custom Drum Racks
Someone asked somewhere if you can load your own samples in the Drum Rack from PUSH. Yes. I have saved an empty Drum Rack preset to my User Library for this purpose (because you cannot load an empty Drum Rack as an instrument into a newly created PUSH MIDI track [for some reason?]) So, instead you j...

Re: Is it possible to browse and load clips?
That's because you load clips into session view from Live's interface and you control the launching (and a few other common clip parameters) from PUSH. It is not a substitute for all functionality in Live. You can try out and edit fx on audio/midi clip channels from PUSH however, once you load them ...

Re: OK, Indvidual pad sensitivity, then
Saw this on twitter. "@jasonswe: Ableton PUSH Tip: Just found this. Hold SELECT + one of the 16 Drum pads, you can adjust velocity for all notes triggered by that one pad." Hi, what I meant by the tweet was that when you are step sequencing (just as you are able to hold Select and mute/solo/delete ...

Re: PUSH IT REAL GOOD
Hi here is something I found tonight by mistake ;) If you can hold SELECT and one of the 16 drum pads in the drum Note/seq mode you will see an option to adjust velocity of all notes being triggered by this held pad at once. In the manual it speaks of being able to adjust Vel for each note in the se...

Re: Push first impressions and critiques
About the lack of parameter control with Operator, I have now found a MFL device called 16 Macros which allows mapping of 16 different parameters from a Live track (this device has an easy Learn Mode as well as 3 accessable 'banks' of 16 macros in PUSH). One big problem is that the macros only show ...

Re: Push first impressions and critiques
Hi. I love this extremely intuitive device..despite any parameter limitations, I give Ableton standing applause. And so it is known I am also a synth/sampler deep programmer but I don't care that some params are missing in Operator,MFL devices etc... There was a reason for all decisions made about t...

Re: Live 9's new Browser - tutorial
Very clear tutorial - thanks! You may want to add a description of how to make User Library instrument racks show under Sounds alongside Ableton racks as I'm not sure it is really explained in the manual. If you save your own racks in the User Library under Instruments/Bass, Instruments/Pad, etc. t...
