Re: Free Instrument for Live 9 Suite

Thank you very much for this one, am! This is a beautiful inspiring creation. I very much like the warmth and mechanical artifacts inside the source however you have done an incredible job turning this into quite an involved and useful rack. Great for noise beds or airy pads alike. Cheers! PS. You'r...

Re: Live 9's new Browser - tutorial

Nice job there funken. Have you attempted creating L9 projects and packing them? According to the manual, when they are again unpacked by L9, the pack is supposed to populate under Packs in Places. I've not been able to successfully make that happen. Have you?

Re: Browser-items disappeared??? (Live 9)

Hi Vido, Yes, you are not seeing things ;) I have noticed this behavior from the browser as well. Sometimes it takes a couple app restarts to get ALL of the Places directories to show their content. In one case for me, my custom "samples" folder was completely grayed-out upon opening the application...

Packing/Unpacking Live Packs using Live 9

Hey gang, According to the L9 manual (section 5.11): "To unpack a Pack (i.e., to restore the original Live Project), double-click the Pack file (.alp),...drag into Live main window...Live will then install the Pack to its default location and IT WILL APPEEAR IN THE PACKS LABEL in the browser." This ...

Re: Ableton Live 9. First Impressions??? what do you think?

Very much appreciate the new browser, I must say. I've been organising a lot.Easy as cake to create favourites folders and simply drag fav presets from the Packs view. I like this much more than doing this in L8. Excellent work Ableton. And YES the new MIDI clip editing is out of this world (so insp...

That is because it is made of construction paper and includes 3 different colour crayons and a small toy. ;) j/k

Re: 12 to 16 Weeks :-(

Good morning. It would seem...that my account no longer reports 12-16 weeks as it did yesterday at some point. I only checked briefly at one point yesterday. When I go in and look last night I am seeing 2-4 weeks. How odd. Refresh the account page and look again to to be certain for anyone else affe...

Re: Live 9 Review

Nice information. Great work with the separate pages and other offerings as well. Looks like you put a bit of time into this one. A word about on change to Suite instruments, this may be the case but remember that more than likely the Suite instrument presets will not be available in the Core Librar...

Re: 12 to 16 Weeks :-(

If this is not in error I find it funny. I also suffer this setback however I had been trying to access my shopping cart since shortly after 11.30 Berlin time with no great success. Several times I had to refresh and resubmit details. It's a sad development to not be able to experiment with the cont...

Well, I can't speak for a completely fresh install of the program, however I would assume the user would receive whatever comes with the Live 9 Core Library (for their version) with an empty User Library. There is a comparison chart on the Ableton website where one can see any other sounds instrumen...

Re: 12 to 16 Weeks :-(

I am awaiting a reply from Product support. There must have been a severe miscalculation. Not wishing to assume, but this could possibly be out of Ableton's hands and more an issue with Akai since they are the actual manufacturer of the product.

Re: L9: Session automation recording useless in a live situation

This issue is only a problem in Session view while having Multiple tracks armed for recording simultaneously. The status ARM switch tells Live whether to record on this track or not. I think it is not assumed that a user will only wish to record Session automation on a single Armed track of many arm...

Oops ;) As a general rule, it's good to have a backup of Live libraries (yes, I understand it's a lot of drive space...but better safe than sorry later). So if you uninstalled Live 8 through the uninstaller provided I do not know why your template populates in Live 9 after install. I do not work wit...

Re: Was a n00b with 8, now a n00b with 9...

You're best probably re-downloading the packs. Are there not some in Place: Live 8 Library? Have you located that in Preferences? 8 I uninstalled 8 before I installed 9 -- so the general premise now is that I start with an empty Library, and build it via the Packs page on the Ableton site? Thanks, ...

Re: L9: Session automation recording useless in a live situation

I could be wrong, but I think Session view automation recording was designed this way to help keep arrangement view automation and Session view automation separated. Not sure how it works internally. Also, what Chapelier is saying is that he is arming MULTIPLE tracks and then recording automation. W...
