Re: L9: Session automation recording useless in a live situation
This issue is only a problem in Session view while having Multiple tracks armed for recording simultaneously. The status ARM switch tells Live whether to record on this track or not. I think it is not assumed that a user will only wish to record Session automation on a single Armed track of many arm...

Re: Was a n00b with 8, now a n00b with 9...
Oops ;) As a general rule, it's good to have a backup of Live libraries (yes, I understand it's a lot of drive space...but better safe than sorry later). So if you uninstalled Live 8 through the uninstaller provided I do not know why your template populates in Live 9 after install. I do not work wit...

You're best probably re-downloading the packs. Are there not some in Place: Live 8 Library? Have you located that in Preferences? 8 I uninstalled 8 before I installed 9 -- so the general premise now is that I start with an empty Library, and build it via the Packs page on the Ableton site? Thanks, ...

Re: L9: Session automation recording useless in a live situation
I could be wrong, but I think Session view automation recording was designed this way to help keep arrangement view automation and Session view automation separated. Not sure how it works internally. Also, what Chapelier is saying is that he is arming MULTIPLE tracks and then recording automation. W...

Re: Session Drums? (Live 9 Suite)
That's right. These smaller packs are named after the classifications within the old Session Drums single livepack. It confused me at first too, but now makes sense. I suppose they will offer the different 'types' of session drums as single packs now.

Re: L9: Session automation recording useless in a live situation
Hi, the way it works (unless i missed something), the only way to record a clip automation on the fly is to 'arm automation' AND hit 'session recording'. But hitting 'session recording' triggers clip recording in all armed tracks...and i've got like 8 armed tracks at the same time... So is it true ...

Re: Crackling sound from tension
Hello again. Well, I've not met one physically modeled synth that is a 'perfect' replica of natural instruments it aims to recreate. I suppose it is simply time for you to settle for a workaround ;) You can get similar bass sounds from FM synthesis when you shape the envelopes just right. Most FM sy...

Re: Ableton Live 9 first impressions...
Ah, I am seriously loving it. It is easy as pie to get something going. I wasn't much of a Session composer before, but using it for this purpose now feels much better than I recall in prev versions. Great job Ableton! Love the new editing features in Note view. I for one do like the Session Record ...

Re: Crackling sound from tension
Hi. Tension is an Applied Acoustic Systems string synthesizer. I am not entirely sure it is organised internally signal-processingwise as your run-of-the-mill software synthesiser, therefore it may not be programmable in the conventional way. You may perhaps benefit from reading the manual to AAS St...

Re: What's the first thing you'll do in Live 9?
I'll get all my prefs sorted and then begin by opening current projects (and a few archived) to see that all plays the same. Then I will probably organise my Places and experiment with the new browsing/search system...and only then I'll open up a New project and play around with the new features/kit...

Re: is ableton 9 coming out at midnight Berlin time?
Getting ready for work now. Checking the southern horizon for fireworks, but I wasn't hopeful. Most offices open 10am around this part of the world. I am anticipating a nice appetizer to lunch. It's a good thing there's no central Ableton store in Berlin.

Re: Crackling sound from tension
Hi. You realise that you are triggering the notes in Mono play mode right? This could cause some "clicks" in the audio when notes are overlapped, as they are in your Live clip. I think you can resolve this by adjusting Tensions play mode and perhaps bring back the Decay of the string and m...

Hi. In the PUSH Q&A thread Jesse from Ableton said: "It will work as a generic MIDI controller in Live 8, but for all the main functionality you will need Live 9. We had to do a lot of work under the hood to make it work. "Timbeaux wrote:is push supported in live 8.4?

Re: list your mouse-shortcuts
Hi there. I have a logitech which has programmable buttons. I use one for toggling the Pencil and one for duplicating parts/notes. One for transport start/stop. one for metronome. i have a default template that I use with key assignments.
