I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone

I spent easily 3-hours a day on Live. Been on it YEARS. My morning coffee is a often a new Ableton adventure. Then (after getting inspired and having a blast with new cool sounds and ideas), I rememember how trying to copy-arrangement (50-tracks.. QUICKLY) is stumping users as well as the Ableton de...

Re: Holy Grail- EZ arrangement editing (Copy-time) for 50 tracks

Just to be sure, I went into Live and did a past again....if there is no information on a track, it does not erase clips that existed there before. So doing this way, the best way, apparently, means that after each workaround pate function, I need to go thru my 50 tracks and delete the music that re...

Re: Holy Grail- EZ arrangement editing (Copy-time) for 50 tracks

Thanks for your response. "I've have no issues using cut-time, undo, and Paste-Time-ing all of my tracks from the clipboard into wherever I want them to go" When you do paste part of the function, do all clips previously in that space get deleted (a they should)? Because that is not what is happenin...

Holy Grail- EZ arrangement editing (Copy-time) for 50 tracks

This topic and inquiry began in early 2009, and to the many users have generously contributed their thoughts, thanks. This seems to be the best solution until copy-time becomes a feature: "In Arrangement view set the loop to the bars you want to copy/cut/render/whatever and click on the Loop-Brace (...

as though you had copied time

If you select a timespan from top track to bottom (including master) and simply copy (CMD-C), you can then paste as though you had copied time. At least as far as I have been able to tell, it doesn't miss anything that cut time gets. Dealing with 50 tracks at a time. Maybe this will be a workaround ...

Re: "Copy Time" - How?

"I don't usually 'copy' time proper, but select, cut time, then undo so nothing's changed in the arrangement but the 'cut' sample is still on my clipboard. Then I'm free to paste away." --- This is working for me. I'm on Live 8.0.9. If I do "cut time" (attempting to copy by holding in buffer) and th...

Instrument Rack - All the racks are WAY too low in Vol!!!

This has been consistent. I tried putting a few WAV loops, and sure enough, they are plenty loud.

If I am dragging racks into MIDI tracks and then triggering notes via computer keyboard... what could be the problem? Added notes to a clip, but volume stayed at same low level.

Thanks

"Copy Time" - How?

One more time for the learning disabled please: Please tell me how fast-moving Live users edit, performing a "copy time." (It is NOT in the dropdown menu) (meaning if you have 50 tracks, and all you are able to view is 20 or so, you simply highlight a few measures on any single track, then perform t...

Re: Dear Ableton (arrangement editing)

I cannot believe how much time I am spending on this!!! But thanks for your help. I just selected a few bars, then went to frickin dup-time, then I did frickin cut-time. So far so good. My time is being wasted in learning to cut and paste arrangemnets in Ableton! Then I placed curser 10 bars ahead i...

Re: Dear Ableton (arrangement editing)

Thanks, but that has been dealt with extensively in my previous posts. If you have a way to easily do a workaround for "copytime" (not available in the dropdown menu), please let me know. Take Care.

Re: Is there a way to select all tracks....?

Try what works. This is why I come here. To get helpful input like this. Actually, I was unaware that I ought try doing stuff that works. If I do not post the results of someone's suggestion, it may be assumed that it worked, and that all is OK, right? Also, other users may waste their own time to t...

Dear Ableton (arrangement editing)

Live is my fav music program ever, and I have a Pro Tools HD system in my living room. I'm not a beginner. There is a substantial amount of confusion about how a professional soundscape designer with 50-track song arrangements can EASILY ("time is money," k?) manipulate the song arrangement (arrange...
