Capture scene on the fly moves clips' start markers…

This could well be a feature that I just don't get, but... When I use Live 5's command "Capture and insert scene" while playback is running, the new scene's clips will have their start markers moved. But I'd like to have them exactly where they are in the original clips. Could someone please tell me...

How to make Standard MIDI Files in Live 5?

I'm relatively new to Live (5), but I'd like to use it for some rather standard MIDI purposes -- hopefully some of you more seasoned users here can help me... Every now and then, I have to make standard MIDI files that contain all instruments on distinct tracks and channels. So, drums on one track (...

Same here -- also: Some frozen tracks won't play back when a set gets reopened.

[Here was a joke that didn't seem that great anymore after I was back on my chair from under the desk.] Anyway, thanks Robert for your detailed and patient reply. I have a much better understanding now of what's going on with Hi-Q and I think you're right with what you're saying about trying to get ...

Thanks Robert for your reply, If I got your point and rendering is essentially the same as playing back in its result -- that would mean it actually is a good idea to turn on Hi-Q on every clip before rendering (for this can change the sound only for the better). Assuming it works that way, could we...

Does Hi-Q have an effect when rendering audio?

Hi, As you can see I'm quite new to these forums, as I am to Live. Though I have watched Live's developement since V1, I only purchased my first copy last Monday (and it completely blew me away). I'm telling you this because my question may be no question at all for any seasoned users, so bare with ...

Ableton's policy of public beta testing is great, their upgrade offers are more than fair -- I'd say all of this adds considerably to the hype. And most of all, Live 5 is just a breeze to work with and keeps surprising and inspiring me all the way. Just to make clear, I'm not blaming Ableton for any...

Yeah, but I wish they had a 30-day-trial with saving enabled. The last beta is running out tomorrow, I have a promising remix I'm working on and there's no way I could afford Live 5 before August. Live 5 is just mind blowing, and I don't care if I sound like a fanboy.

Thanks Robert!

You've got a new customer then...

I only hope it's not the last day before the grace period for the update starts - but I don't wanna wait any longer.

Cheers,
Z

Is every Live Version multilingual?

Hi there, From my Live4 Demo I'd assume you can choose the language Live should use as you wish. But in Ableton's web shop you have to specify your preferred language before you buy. - So, are they selling different versions or not? I'm just asking because I'd like to buy Live 4 in an online store t...

One more thing: As I own Acid 4 and I'm not sure if the upgrade's worth it... Acid 4 works as a rewire master only, Acid 5 can be used both as master and slave. For video editing rewired to Live - does Acid have to be the master or the slave? Or does it even work both ways? Thanks, Zerobae http://ww...

Thank you all for your suggestions - Thinking about it, I'm wondering if it could be a good idea to use both Acid 5 and Live. I've always seen these two apps as very similar, with Live leaving Acid behind lately. But not only can Acid handle video files, I also find it easier to build (cut, chop up ...

Switching from Acid to Live - 2 questions.

With the latest, long-awaited update to Acid Pro not living up to my expectations, I'm considering switching to Ableton Live big time. There's one tiny feature I use a lot in Acid - as of yet I haven't found an equivalent in Live: it is called "slipping". Here's what it does: Holding the "ALT"-key a...
