Re: Compact units for field recordings
The Zoom recorders are pretty good. I use the H4 and it's great. It can also be used as a 4 track and as a USB soundcard. Handy. The only downside so far is it's size.. It could have been a bit smaller. ..on the other hand, since I almost always have some sort of bag with me size is not an issue rea...

No, I'm pretty happy with 8.0.4 as well. Seems to work muchHermanus wrote:Am I the only one happy with 8.0.4???![]()

Re: shareware for recording Mac internal audio output ?
Soundflower works great. I use it all the time when recording internal sound, sound from websites etc. Very handy tool. Only thing I've noticed is that with Leopard there seems to be some issues with Soundflowerbed.. After some time the audio that is routed to the soundcard starts crackling, and whe...

I really like
the new midi editor
grouptracks
adjusting parameters on all selected tracks
operator
haven't had much time to look into the new
instruments and plugs, but I'll probably like
those as well

Lag in Live 8
I'm experiencing a very long "wait time" before I can start working in Live on my MacBook Pro.
After Live is launched I'm not able to press any buttons or do anything in probably 30-60 sek.
I can minimize or move the Live window around, so nothing freezes or anything..
Anybody else experiencing this?

Re: audio interfaces
I just recently got a Duet as well. Very happy with it so far. Very good sound quality, and the latency is not a problem for me(I don't remember what latency I'm at at the moment) ..but as joeyfeivecents points out.. the breakout cable is a little goofy. you can however get the breakout box from htt...

Re: Are .caf files supported in version 8?
Don't know if caf files are supported but you could convert the files.
I added audio files to an iPhone (which should be caf) just by renaming
aif files to caf.. could be possible to just rename the caf to aif.
if not..
I think you can use Max to convert

I've had similar problems. When I installed the Alchemy AU and VSTi the VSTi would not appear in Live. It was installed in the system vst folder. I then moved it to the user vst folder, and then everything was ok. However, I didn't want to have my VST's show up in 2 folders in Live's browser, and I ...
