Did migration assistant move the program over? If so I would definitely encourage a fresh install... actually, I would encourage not using migration assistant at all and instead fresh install everything...

Well it still has the 800 port, just no 400 port... so you could always get an adapter to back convert and then just daisy chain them... but it still sucks, me wants more Firewire!!

Yeah he loves that MAX... I saw them recently at the APW festival in Jersey and he had a pretty wild rig with some complicated looking MAX patches right at the heart of the beast. The one from this video is actually a pretty simple patch you can download from MAX (although I'm pretty sure Jonny does...

I have a second generation Mac Book Pro an Maudio NRV10 and a Western Digital My Book Pro. Now the NRV10 is FW400 and has an external power supply and the external HDD is FW800 and also has an external power supply and they will not work together. There is just not enough bus power on this thing to ...

Not having Operator I'd like to recommend Novation Bass Station or Puremagnetic TeeBee. I really like TeeBee. It is a sampled version of the Roland TR-303 for the Sampler instrument (or Impulse if you have not the Sampler). I think it sounds pretty keen as I love those old Roland instruments (I pair...

Bulk Dump

I've got a question... I have an MSR2000B synthesizer and I really like to tweak the presets/create my own but I rarely save them... I know how to send a bulk dump of the settings out from the synthesizer but is there a way for Live to "record" this message and then pass it back to the synthesizer a...

I do, mostly because it's a pain in the ass the carry around all my computer hardware (even with a laptop). I feel this will change in the future but for now, it's mostly out of laziness... For my live setup I have: Roland AX-7 MIDI controller KORG MS2000R (sans keyboard) Roland Juno-G and sometimes...

Logic is the answer. I am a professional keyboard player and have a BA in composition and I have to say that as far as MIDI score editing goes Logic is clutch (Live pales in comparison). As many have been saying: it's a great value and has all sorts of keen instruments and effects included. I would ...

I have never had a good experience with migration assistant... I would just put the old machine in target mode (hold T when starting up) and move your stuff over the way you want too... also, do a clean reinstall on all the programs...

can't deny the usefulness of the pentatonic/blues scale (blues has added tritone) and I have been really digging the whole tone scale... as for keys, they all sound the same these days (check out some music before equal temperment...), but I'd have to say I enjoy Cm and C#m as well as EbMaj...
