OT: Crap Crap Crap

I just came home from the gym to discover that some one broke into my house and stole my Xbox360 and PS3... they also stole the controllers that were else where which leads me to believe that the thief is someone who has been to my house and has an understanding of where I keep my stuff... what a to...

Re: Where to learn Max

Niiice, I've never seen that before. As far as Max goes there are a scant few books on the subject that are pretty good. The tutorial files come with the program and are interactive so they are certainly the best place to start... They are very logical and are actually written using the Max program.

Re: Mirroring Mac Pro on MacBook

although it would not really help for the VSTs/plugins... couldn't you just use the collect all and save for the projects that you will want to move? Then as long as the VSTs are also installed on the other Mac and Ableton already knows where they are then it should open fine, yes? I could be totall...

Re: Simian Mobile Disco - Temporary Pleasure

I never could really get into ADSR as an album, I felt it had some weak songs, but SMD are generally AMAZING and I love "I Believe" and "Hustler" a lot. I can't wait to hear this new album.

Re: District 9

Can't wait for District 9... I am going to the 10:00 show tonight at possibly the worst movie theater known to man (Oneonta, NY) but still, I am brimming with excitement (and next week is the basterds).

Re: iWork or Office 2008?

ha ha, that will never stick... old MS will settle and you will never see any disruption if Office shipments. I have office, iwork and open office and I find that most if the time I use pages just because I like the UI the most (and it does output and read .doc files so you should have no trouble th...

Re: recording acoustic guitar

I think, right off the bat, they you are using the wrong kind of mic. The mic you are using is (as far as I can tell with a bit of research and without having the exact model) a vocal mic. Acoustic guitars produce a very wide and harmonically rich frequency spectrum that a vocal mic will just not be...

Yeah, piano is key. You don't even have to be a virtuoso, you just need to be able to get around the keyboard (know the notes, chords, scales, etc. in every key)...

Re: Anyone familiar with or have any comments on berklee music?

Yeah, it is a tough question. I have never taken an online course myself (I have a B.A. in Music Theory) so it is hard for me to comment on how worthwhile this would be. I can, however, vouch for the school itself. I have a friend who goes there now and I have sat in on a few classes and toured the ...
