m-audio project mix - how is the audio section with mac

I'm considering a few options at the moment and would love to hear advice from anyone who has had experience with m-audio project mix on mac, and how well does it work with Live ? I am looking for a control surface, either mackie control universal with an aditional soundcard or the m-audio project m...

intel core duo on mac book pro

What I am wondering is - is this a dual processor and as such will live support it as I have read elsewhere that live does not take advantage of dual processors ?

Thanks guys, seeing as how I have not got heaps of experience with mackie control protocol it sounds like it might be a bit complex, maybe problematic especially seeing as it sounds like latency is not that great with it which is one of the main reasons i was looking at it because I thought it's lat...

live 5 + yamaha 01X on OSX anyone ?

just looking at this instead of a mackie control, nice having the audio section built into it, can anyone offer any good reports in terms of latency, performance, ease of use etc ? does it work well as a soundcard and controller at the same time ?

clips not retaining warp mark settings

after creating various clips of one piece of audio, I then clicked save in each of the clips properties and then dragged all the new clips into a folder in the browser but then when I tried to individually reintroduce each clip into another set I found that each clip had lost its warp marker setting...

Yeah I know, I was so happy when I first got it! It just became less and less attractive when I began using it very intensively... :( The speed of my powerbook is part off the problem though, so on a 3ghz desktop it should do what it is supposed to. Nowadays I just use so many tracks and effects th...

I am curious about this too, I am recording in my home studio set up and did a session yesterday with my firebox at 24bit/96k, obviously it put a lot more strain on the cpu than 44.1k and am wondering for my purposes how much difference does 96k make to the overall sound, presumably if I record at 9...

live 5.0.2 froze on me

half way through a dj set, this is the first time i think this has happened to me, the only difference to my usual set up is I was using an imic set up as an aggregate device instead of my fire box for my main audio output, monitoring through the built in output on the powerbook, so i am wondering i...

you may want to start a second itunes library and put all your live compatible files in one (ie: mp3, aiff and wav) and all your non compatible files (aac etc) in the other so when you are using the browser in live you just use the folder that has compatible files so you are not sifting through stuf...

yeah thats understandable, i'm just kind of cruising at the moment so auto is ok for me, sure sometimes got to wait a bit for a track to decode but you can start playing it before it has finished decoding, and...got all that hard drive space which for me was the most important thing...to be able to ...

I am finding the decoding cache is working well on my set up and so just drag mp3's straight in and warp them, seems to be working fine, what sort of weirdness are you guys getting ?

i never tried an audiophile, only a 410, depends what platform you are on also, apparently m-audio gear works a lot better on pc but mac drivers are notoriously bad, in terms of latency and also ease of use, i was forever having to reboot, pre sonus fire box is so much easier to use... havent tried ...

presonus firebox, probably no where near as good as the motu traveller and probably a few others out there but on the whole, for the price, I'm very happy with it...and the headphones go up to 11, no, but seriously, they do ! one word of warning, for firebox users, although it's bus powered, i would...
