Re: McMillen QuNeo looks to be everything I want in a controller

Matt, how ”insensitive” can the sensors be made? A controller-heavy Ableton Live performance using one or more QuNeos along with an iPad running Lemur with a lot of bouncing balls on it can crash the set in less than an hour.

Re: McMillen QuNeo looks to be everything I want in a controller

Ableton's Undo buffer limitation has been an issue for a long time. If you have controllers that send dense MIDI data (such as wiimotes), your live set will crash once the undo buffer reaches a size of 2GB. Ableton has expressed their indifference to the problem many times. They simply don't care.

Re: X/Y Pad to fade between four sound sources

Thank you so much, Ned! It works like a charm! I love your Kaoss FX rack, too! (just saw it on YouTube)

Chapelier, thank you for sharing your mod, but I have my own UI.

X/Y Pad to fade between four sound sources

Hi there, I am trying to build a sample player in maxforlive that uses one X/Y pad to crossfade between four sound sources in a way that: - each source is assigned to one of the corners - when the pointer is at the center of the pad, all sound sources play at quarter volume. does anyone know how to ...

Re: McMillen QuNeo looks to be everything I want in a controller

Hi Matt, I am very excited about the QuNeo and looking forward to receiving mine in March/April (I'm a kickstarter supporter, maybe the only one from Turkey). I have a question: Will QuNeo come with a dedicated set of M4L devices for Ableton Live? If yes, will some of those devices receive OSC? Or, ...

Re: Audio interface suggestions - portability is important

I have already purchased and started using the Focusrite 2i2. In fact I tested it last night at a concert. It worked well. Because the phantom power supply of the house mixer did not work, we had to route the cello microphone thru Ableton Live/Focusrite to the main mixer. I had to bring latency down...

Re: Audio interface suggestions - portability is important

I don't know if it will improve latency, but there is no reason it should increase latency.

Re: Audio interface suggestions - portability is important

The bigger Scarlett's have DSPs in them as far as I know, so the results may be quite different from the 2i2.

Re: Nintendo Wii remote used as a midi controller!!!

I have been one of those ”posers wanting to be hip” for the past 3 years. I perform regularly with Wiimotes. Rather than trying to be hip, as Machinate unfortunately concluded about us posers, wiimotes enhance my experience on stage, detaching me from the laptop and its screen and allow me to intera...

Re: Audio interface suggestions - portability is important

Hi, The Scarlett 2i2 arrived. So far, I have only used it as audio output and have not put the preamps to any use. The unit looks beautiful and robust. The knobs feel a bit cheap but I think they'll do fine. I like the size of the volume knob - the small size of the MOTU volume knob has always been ...

Re: Audio interface suggestions - portability is important

Hi login,

Apogee and RME are too expensive (see my budget in the original post). I don't like DJ interfaces. I think the Scarlett 2i2 will do fine, assuming that I don't have any latency/CPU consumption problems with it.

Thanks

Re: Audio interface suggestions - portability is important

Thanks locojohn. I've just decided to get the Scarlett 2i2 by Focusrite. It's small, has a metal housing, simple and hopefully will do the work. If I need more inputs/outputs I'll simply take the Traveler as I normally do.

Re: Audio interface suggestions - portability is important

It is now available in the US (at B&H in New York). My girlfriend is buying me one as we speak. I will try it here in Istanbul and if it works properly (latency, CPU load, etc) I'll keep it. I'll let you know about my experience with it.

Re: Audio interface suggestions - portability is important

Anyone with a Focusrite Scarlett interface? Any feedback? The Scarlett 2i2 looks like a good option:
