Re: Quality of internal audio interface in MacBook Pro

The output from my MBPro is good enough quality for playing at gigs. I've seen plenty of other people with mbps do the same and plenty who use external sound interfaces. They all sound great IMHOTEP

yes. I get around it by knocking tracks out as fast as I can. I get bored if I work more than 2 days on a track

OK, that's a drag if your goal is to be a bedroom producer so get out of the bedroom folks.
the reality is though that the there are more artists chasing after the same number of gig/dj spots! :P

Re: OSX 10.7.3 not good for audio?

Yeah, can't downgrade to snow lion, have to stick with winderps  Just an aside, people are mixed about Lion, some are getting good results others are not. It's probably due to compatibility issues, but one thing is clear, your situation is by far the worst case scenario around. Nobody but you ...

Re: OSX 10.7.3 not good for audio?

I only use the macbook for gigs - if I run OSX I have to take a sound interface + a USB hub for my midi controller + mouse
I was hoping to minimise my gear so I can carry more clothes/deodorant and less computer gear on planes!

Re: OSX 10.7.3 not good for audio?

Upgraded to 10.7.4, same results. Plugged in my nio 2 4 audio box and now i get results closer to running win 7 (31 percent on osx vs 28 percent on win 7) I only have ableton installed on the mac partition and am not running any vsts. The 10.7.4 upgrade has stopped the cursor from contantly turning ...

Re: rescan midi inputs?

Using win 7 via bootcamp, I use bomes midi translator to re-route midi from my controllers to a virtual midi port. Live then uses this virtual midi port as an input. Now if my midi controllers become unplugged in the middle of a set, I plug them back in and everything is fine! It'd be nicer if Ablet...

Re: Thin sound!

I create the sketch/idea in Logic then use Ableton to mix and master. Logic gives me the phat ideas and Ableton the sweet thinness that everyone is craving these days.
