Re: your daily rituals

Well when I first started I just dove right in. Began just throwing loops together but that got old real quick because I didn't feel like it was "mine." Ya know? Some of the things that were revelations to me in the beginning were, slice to MIDI function. When I discovered that I took my production ...

Re: izotope stutter edit, fun cheating?

I bought SE a few weeks ago and literally had a gig the night after. I'll admit I used pre-sets that night but it was lot's of fun! On a Launchpad it's fucking ridiculous(in a good way.) I probably over did it that night but the crowd was definitely down w/ it. I have since gone deeper w/ the softwa...

Re: Ableton + Stutter edit = buggy

Stutter Edit CAN be automated. Not in the traditional sense og drawing lines of automation but by using a MIDI track that is armed and drawing in the notes.

2 Macbook DJ set-up Question?

What's up Live people? I am a producer using Live 8, APC-40, Launchpad, Fast-Track Pro, and M-Audio BX4A studio monitors. I recently found a production partner. He also has a Macbook, Live and a MOTU Traveller.(The original one.) Our time is limited so we wanted to have the configuration of our set-...

No dude. You weren't prickly at all and I'm sorry if I came across like an asshole. I was genuinely amazed at your financial plannng! I don't think 2 days into the future, financially speaking, let alone 4-8 years. That's is incredible. Then again, I consider music making ne of the TOP priorities in...

Re: Lap Top: recommendation please.

Mac is where it's at! Go ahead world. Call me a fag and a fanboy. Whatever! I dropped the dough on a shiny new Macbook about a year ago and it's flawless when it comes to Audio. I run Live 8 and Mass amounts of VST's and up to 24-30 tracks (typically) and I barely ever come close to 50% I record au...

Pittsburgh Users

Any Live user's in Pittsburgh PA?
If so, let me know. I was thinking about setting up an Ableton Live User's group in Pittsburgh.
Just wanted to know if there are enough Pittsburgh users out there.

Le me know. I 'd also love to collaborate.

Re: BT's Stutter Edit is out

Ya. No automation sucks!!! But like I said -Just use a Resample track. I know thats not much of a solution but, hey fuck it. Plus since there's no Automation I see it as a strictly live tool, which is cool in it's own right. That means you have to actually have spontaneous skills. Not just push rand...

Re: BT's Stutter Edit is out

@ jamief---Good point man....

It's just that the art form I've devoted my life to now seems like a trendy new toy.
On a positive note, if there's no heart and soul in music , most people can feel that.

Re: BT's Stutter Edit is out

I personally love it! I've been using it for 2 days now (on trial of course, haven't bought it yet.) But I think it's amazing. That being said, it's similar to Effectrix by sugarbytes in that you have to set up a MIDI track and route the MIDI from to your Controller and the MIDI to to the track that...

Re: Mysterious Random

I think you may be a bit smarter than I. Or at least have eaten more LSD than I. We're getting into semantics here. Of course, I think you're absolutely right, but what I think "random" means is that it sets the device to parameters that were not set by YOU(a human.) The machine chooses a "Random" s...

Re: Live 8-Drum Rack ?

@ABleton David. I found them! : ) I'm on a Mac and I use Time Machine, so I went back a few months and found the racks in my old Live 7 Library. I was able to use the old racks so Live must have been reading them from the external(Time Machine) drive. I guess I over-wrote the Live 7 Library w/ the L...
