There is a lot of talk about the Intel Macs being able to do this but what is the wisdom behind it? Why would you want to run Windows on a Mac? Because of some Windows exclusive progams?

Shed some light for me!

James, Until just recently, I was using Live on my G4 iBook 933 with 1.12 GB or RAM and it worked pretty well. I couldn't get crazy with the effects. More than a couple reverbs would bog things down. In other words, your computer is way faster than mine, so it is probably RAM and maybe some other se...

I asked MOTU support this question and their answer was:

Under OS X, the outputs are listed in this order:

1-2: Main Out 1-2
3-10: Analog 1-8
11-12: S/PDIF 1-2
13-14: Phones 1-2

So, is there something I can change in Ableton to get the track sends to match where the signal actually comes out?

It fits in the front pouch of my M-Audio back pack. I get my laptop, ultralite and Oxygen USB keyboard in there. Mobile recording studio!

I got mine yesterday and haven't had much chance to put it through the paces but so far it is GREAT! The ability to eliminate a mixer from my setup was the selling point. No latency monitoring can be routed through some of the outs so I can run my Moog into it and play it live without any latency......

MOTU Ultralite Routing Question

First of all, I got the Ultralite and it KILLS!!!! So light and sounds great! The one thing I am having trouble with is audio routing from Ableton Live. For instance, when I route a Live channel to output #5, it comes out the UltraLite on channel #3. #6 comes out on #4, etc. Everything is 2 off. Is ...

Stephen, When you send audio through the X25 to Ableton, are you seeing any movement in the meters in Ableton? You said you have the midi device set to Photon. Make sure you have the Photon selected as your input audio device in the preferences. I have the X25 and I have used it with Ableton, so I k...

It must have been some sort of anomaly but I set the overall latency back to zero and I am able to record just fine now.

And I can confirm that the Presonus Firepod works with the MacIntel stuff.

Could someone please test something for me?

If I have some loops running and I go to change a patch on the Simpler, I get an audio glitch that is rather unpleasant. The same thing happens when I change patches on the ImpOSCar.

Anyone else ever try this or experience this? Any suggestions?
