Re: How to Syncronize two librarys???

I'm rushed for time over here to respond, but you certainly don't want to take any advise that appears cavalier, it's your valued data! I use an external drive for my ableton library, and I've included a hierarchy I call "the heap." Which is further broken down into loops and one-shots. I use a Find...

Re: Playing Arrangement Tracks and Session Clips Together

That's interesting. Okay, so you're removing the stop buttons on the shared channels (which we're calling tracks) so as to not inadvertently stop the arrangement that's already playing on those channels. Then if you want to add Session elements, they need to be fired from tracks that are not playing...

Re: Beginner Advice -Bpm standardization of vinyl transcriptions

I'll tell you what I know, and there are certainly plenty of folks who have more experience copying vinyl than I: Once you get the tune in Ableton, you can impose a strict BPM on any audio, the warp markers are there to enforce where Live had to push and tug to get that tempo drift to conform to the...

Re: Problem: Looper stop causing playback to stop.

before this gets buried... and just a reminder: I actually want to keep this in a fallback to overdub mode. Is there a real improvement in getting more than one pedal dedicated to the looper, what would be the 2nd, 3rd control you'd assign if you had the choice, or do you like the sequence of trigge...

Problem: Looper stop causing playback to stop.

Maybe it's because I have an external sync source, and some conflict with the MIDI Sync settings (I've turned off sync now for all my ports inputs/outputs), but when I stop a loop in looper (with the intention of setting it aside, clearing the loop, and maybe using it later) the stop action causes m...

Im just another end-user, but if youre referring to this last script, I can send a snapshot-I don't have much screencast experience-just realize that this community has yet to identify universal tricks for clyphx: people's session layouts are unique, as are their areas of interest. And you can alrea...

Re: The most realistic orchestra sound possible

1) Hire an orchestra. Start in the Eastern Block countries where the classics are taught well. There are certain outfits that will match you with a translator and conductor. For anything you're proud of, there could be no greater complement to your composition than having real people play it (and an...

Re: ClyphX – Utility script for Live 8 (and Live 7 too)

Thanks for your response, Yes I have tried it without a value after the p1 (assuming it will toggle the current value). Ah, the ><, which I only understood as increase/decrease operators. . I'll give that a go. When I tried engaging it with a continuous controller in native control, it turned on at ...

Re: ClyphX – Utility script for Live 8 (and Live 7 too)

The live set example was included in version 1, and has since increased in features to include macrobat, which is still included in stable version 2. They do help, but don't let that stop you from taking the reigns directly from the video example and thr manual. Some adjustments to your syntax and y...

Re: Yamaha HS80m vs. Krk Equivalent Monitors ?

Sub Funk says some really important stuff. First, don't underestimate what good feedback does to reinforce your own creative inspiration. It's true for consuming music, for performing music, so why wouldn't it be true for producing music? With that in mind the Yamahas alone, and yes I'd love to get ...

discontiguous chain selector in racks...

Has this been requested already? It would be nice to only need one instance of an effect, for example, but be able to use it with all the other combinations of effects in a parallel chain, without having to create new instances of it for each combination. Only way to do this would be if you could in...

Re: Won't advances eventually make musicians near obsolete?

I would like to sift through the other replies, but off the top of my head, I'll say this: In one manner, musicians are already becoming obsolete, if you consider the compensation mechanisms in place. It's harder and harder to make a living as a musician, make money off your work, etc. Live performa...

Now there's a thought. Thanks! Thus far, using some precarious methods for accomplishing what I need. Once it looks dependable enough, I'll mention the best way to mix into separate master tempo clips.
