Re: What Percentage of Your Sounds and Effects Come From Ableton

Sounds: 90% Live (incl. external samples played by Live's samplers) 10% External (Synplant, Microtonic) Effects: 80% Live 20% external (Aether, Waves, Ohmforce) I like the workstation feeling of live and getting everything out of one hand with Suite. Somehow frees my mind and makes me more creative....

Re: Maschine ableton drum racks

This. Or if you want to make use of maschines Step Seq mode: 1) Insert Machine as VST in Live 2) Open a new group in Maschine and set each Pad/Sound separately to MIDI Out 3) Change to Keyboard mode and adjust the Root key for each Pad/Sound as needed (default is C3 on every patch, so e.g. start wit...

Re: vst vs. au

MIDI out is not possible with AU afaik. This is why I use Reaktor and Machine as VST in Live.

And in case you're using Waves: The AU wave shell somehow seems to be screwd in Live, only VST works for me (Waves Silver). Does anyone have similiar experiences?

I AM a MUSICIAN. Also a producer, engineer and occasionally do mastering work, with 23 years of experience, various qualifications and diplomas etc. Cubase, Logic and Live SOUND THE SAME. And they null raw, unprocessed audio in a null test. Or..what you actually mean is that they should sound the s...

Re: Lives sound engine argument again ...

When you use the same raw audio with no plugins, at the same pan law, there is NO DIFFERENCE. The only one with a tiniest amount of difference (not better, just different) was PTHD because of fixed point 48 bit conversion, instead of 32 bit floating point conversion. Live doesn't allow you to chang...

Re: Best small monitors...

I A/B'd with the Genelec 8020 and the KRK VXT 4.

While the Genelecs are incredible in the low ends with that size I still went for the KRK's which for my taste are clearer in high frequencies.

Still liking them and never looked back.

Re: Why Upgrading to Live 8 is a Waste of Money

They do not get free upgrades for life. They get free UPDATES, exactly the same as we do. EG: how much did the update from 7.01 to 7.14 cost you? That's exactly what they mean when they say "free updates". You still have to pay to upgrade full versions, also the same as we do. Looking at dom's post...

Re: Group Buy: Aether Reverb

I can't even get the plug to appear in my devices list - any one else got this problem? I'm on live 8.0.1 and Max OS 10.4.11 - I think it might be the latter that's the problem maybe.. Same setup here. It appears as AU but not as VST. Authorizing the AU works but only for the single instance. As so...

Re: Group Buy: Aether Reverb

I just run the demo this morning, this thing sounds great and imo would complement Live's rather artificial Reverb very well. I think I'm in.

Even if it has an awful GUI I seriously recommend to try it out!

Re: A.R. Rahman

Don't see an inconsistency either, but still funny.

The Live article is more like: "Look how great he is and he once stated to use our software" while the Logic article provides a lot more information and you can even read a few Logic-related production details.
