Re: Perceived Sound Quality of popular soft-synths (discussion)

Had that (personal) problem a few years back with Camel Space. But just a little bit with Alchemy. To be fair, it really depends what you do with it. Whats the osc source, what filter combo, what fx etc. It can sound really good. Virus Ti can sound thin when using wavetable oscilators. But it can a...

Re: Perceived Sound Quality of popular soft-synths (discussion)

Is it my imagination, or does Camel Audio's Alchemy, despite all of its magnificent features and flexibility, seem to have an inferior overall sound quality I think so. I constantly find myself looking for the High Quality Button, whenever I find a Patch I want to use. Like the one you'd find on a ...

Re: My God - I am going to go mad . . .

Whomever mentioned Balanced Cables. Thank you. I just checked, and find that both my Stealth Pedal, and my Roland Powered Monitors have Balanced ins/outs. I'm looking forward to getting my own problem solved real soon.

Re: How to be behind the beat, but still in time

I understand that Drummers sometimes keep a strict rhythm with certain elements of the kit, while simultaneously playing other elements of the kit ahead or behind the beat. I just did a quick search and my thought seems to be confirmed. ''I think it was Jeff Porcaro who talked about making the whole...

Re: My God - I am going to go mad . . .

I think it depends on the USB Card situation. I had a Line-6 Card working fine (apart from the crappy drivers). Now I have a Stealth Pedal (competition prize) which causes a continuious hum on my Monitors but (like you) not on my headphones. IK Multimedia have been ever so unhelpful as usual but I m...

Re: Drums VSTi Shootout.....which one's the best!?

I have a ton a purchased VSTi Drum Machines. I seem to be obsessed with them. Drums and Bass. Can't get enough! :) Superior Drummer 2 is great. You get to blead all of those microphones into each other for a very realistic drum sound. Battery is great too but I always seem to use sounds from other S...

Re: Features you would like to see in Ableton 9?

And if Ableton can't get Live stable, they're History imho.

When was Live 8 released?

Apr 2009?

Two Years.

Yes ... I would say that Live 9 is a make or break situation at this point.

Re: Is there something wrong with arrangement View? YES

If I try to use my IK Multimedia Amp Sims in Arrangement View, I often get a crash. I had this problem too. Good thing I got my copy free (in a bundle with TRacks). I switched to another amp sim, problem solved. Right now, this seems to be the 'answer' all right. Thanks for your input doghouse.

Re: Is there something wrong with arrangement View in Ableton?

Just picked up a 'few' random quotes from the forum. ''crashes have been occurring in arrangement view...'' ''my crashes come from arrangement view.'' ''i don't recall ever having a crash in session view.'' ''... i had this crash while my song was playing in arrangement view.'' ''I encountered a lot...

Re: Is there something wrong with arrangement View in Ableton?

Thanks JBlongz. I'm on Windows 7. I hope this issue (as I experience it) can be solved without lazily resorting to throwing access to more RAM at the problem. If everything appears to work well in Session view, then there is no reason (I know of) why it can't work just as well in Arrangement ...
