Re: Live 9 is great...BUT.......

I think this is the best upgrade in a long time. The app is much much more stable than Live 8 when it was released which promise a bright future. I agree that Push is the most excitingbit but actually clip automation and audio to midi have already completely transformed the way I compose music. Didn...

Re: Ableton Templates

I think the idea is that creating your own template will actually help you to learn the program while using an already made on will not. You can start by making a very very simple tempalte for yourself : just adding an instrument for bass, lead synth for example. You'll grow from there instead of us...

Re: Happy with Live 9?

I'm VERY happy with the upgrade. I think one major problem is that Ableton has done a very poor marketing job : the price strategy has been a disaster, day of release was pretty messy with the downloads, the delay with Push has made a lot of people unhappy. This made some people forgetting about wha...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

(granted, you can only work within an octave from the pads - but still - this is yet another element of Push's functionality that can be achieved with Maschine) There's no doubt that this is something that will please a lot of existing Maschine users, but I've always felt constrained/boxed-in by pl...

Re: Native Instruments vs. Live 9 ?

Apples and pears... Komplete is a lot of sounds with a very messy interface unless you have Maschine Suite has not so many great sounds but it integrates beautifully. IF you're a preset maniac go for Komplete but if you want to investigate a bit the synths, build you own sounds then go for the suite...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

Push is an entirely different proposition to Maschine ( which I own ). Maschine is excellent a building beats and browsing Komplete sounds but Push has been really designed from the ground-up as a polyphonic instrument and is really optimized for Live. Maschine can't compete on that level.

Re: Ableton 9 - How many cores / Ram does it support?

Live is multicore threaded. The more core the better especially if you run plugins. Live can only use 4GB of RAM unless you use the 64bit version which is barely usable as it can only use 64bit plugins ( most vsts are not) To avoid glitches a good sound card and DRIVER are as important if not more t...

Re: June 25th !!!!!!!

I ordered on march 6th, just after the first day or rush. Like a lot of users my first estimate was 2-4 weeks, then it went quickly to 12-16 and then back to the initial 2-4 a couple of days later. IT's been now 1-2 weeks :D Manufacturing hardware is a completely different thing than software, I kno...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

having both step and real time drum programming Maschine also has both step and real time sequencing. In Maschine, you can quickly switch back and forth between the step sequencer and the real time sequencer. The Push shows you both sequencing modes at once but the step sequencer is limited to 32 s...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

Well I own Maschine MK1 for quite a while and I really agree with those who describe Push and Maschine as 2 very different beasts, fan wars generally go pretty much nowhere... The most important thing for me is creative workflow, how can I translate a musical idea that comes through my head into the...

Enhancement request of the year (So far)

Hi all, I have Tried to compile the most popular request in one doc. Yes, there's no MP3 support before you ask ! It seems than more and more users are using Live as a traditionnal sequencer as much as a gig software so most of these request are heading towards that direction, keeping in mind that a...
