A really common problem I have found with DJs is when in a venue where the PA systemn doesnt have quite enough grunt, they carry on cranking up the volume and particualarly the bass... until you get to the point where everything just farts... - horrible. Allways fun when you take over the EQ control...

Also very easy in Live!! Did you check the WIKI? Three side-chain compression guides, top of the list, with links to side-chainable compressors that work in Live. http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27120 This one is the simplest: http://sonictransfer.com/side-chain-compression-tutorial.sh...

To me Live 6 is the best audio editor ever. Is there anything specifically in Live you're having trouble with? I might be able to help. Destructive editing, perhaps? (..and don't say, "just bounce everything down to a new file" ;) ). Ever tried reversing a sample, adding reverb and revers...

side-chain compress the bass OK - easy with external hardware - have you come across a side chain capable compressor that works within Live? BTW - using some gentle distortion/saturation and BP filtering helps too. Can use LP too, but you tend to just end up with lots of low end mud that will need ...

Wrong area.

Find a suitable tool on the NET to convert whatever audio format you system exports - (wav if a PC or something wierd if a Mac) to MP3. You know how to use internet search engines?

Re: TIP: Cool half-time effect

BUT since it's been recorded at 192k, it still has a huge amount of high-end sound in there from my synths and digital drum machines and whatnot. If the source was a digital drum machine or synth, than lets be generous and say its running its audio out at 44.1Khz, which by the time it hits your pri...

You can create bus tracks real easy. Whats missing is track grouping or folder track and the abililty to show/hide tracks. What I would really like to be able to do is hide all the tracks that I dont actually need to mess with (and so they dont go in the auto map either...), so I only have say 8 or ...

Hmmm... Sounds a fun but misguided exercise :) Multi sampling will help a bit as basic raw wave form can vary quite a bit across the key range - saw and pulse particularly. But what really makes the sound of an analog synth is its filters - its relatively easy to digitally model an oscilator complet...

Looks like multi-cpu support in Live 6 is hosed - Grrrrrrr!!!!!

6.0.7 PC - Overloads/Distortion in multipath routings

OK - this is a complex problem, so I'll try describe the audio routing in this track. This is using Live 6.0.7 on a PC with WinXP in session mode. Virus TI VC plug-in and 3 midi parts - all fine Stylus RMX - 6 midi parts - again all fine A bunch of MIDI external synth parts - now muted - again all t...

Yeh mate - perfectly normal if it isnt a loop :P

Open up the sample, find the button that says loop and click on it so its yellow, then set the loop length.
