Way to sample directly off the internet like Beat Thang?

Can live do this? I rigged it up on my macbook with the 1/8th inch outs going to the 1/8th inch ins, but it would be nice not have to switch back and forth between drivers for my interface. Also kinda sucks having to have an 1/8th inch loop going on.

There was an animal collective interview in Sound On Sound recently. You need an online subscription to read the interview(or the mag itself). If anyone has read that interview I would be interested in what kind of techniques or gear they were using.

Got IT..Nevermind

Ok so I dont have sampler. My biggest problem with live is that when I slice to midi its a pain in the A$$ to change the global polyphony and pitch(you cant, you have to do it for each pad). I think I read somewhere that if you have sampler you can slice to sampler instead of drum racks. Is this tru...

Re: Well known producers who use only software.

Inspirational. Its funny because he's got some of the most wonderfully polished sounding beats. No doubt. Its crazy too, Ive seen a couple pictures of his studio and it looks like he doesn't use an interface, just 1/8th inch out on his macbook. http://www.brainfeedersite.com/wp-content/uploads/2009...

Re: after slicing to midi, changing pitch or params of all slice

zalo wrote:create a slicing preset with tuning set to a macro

Ah good idea, don't know how to do that yet, but will RTFM. Also to the fellow who said to put a midi pitch effect on, I trye'd this and it only work one cent up or down for some reason. Thanks all.

Is there a way to change the global pitch of all your slices after you slice to midi? I hate having to adjust each individual note.

FREE LO FI HIP HOP ALBUM BY THE INFLEKTORS

Hi ableton friends. I have just finished an interesting project. My friend in Finland sent cassette tapes of him rapping to our studio in Canada in the mail. I then recorded the tape and used Ableton to match the vocals up with beats. The result is grimy as hell. Hope you like it. http://theinflekto...

Thanks for this post. I have a release coming up and have been pondering these kinds of questions. Really helps put some things into perspective.

I have a couple thread on here complaining about how you can't edit paramaters for multiple pads. Trying to set choke groups for 60+ pads is not working for me.

Change all selected parms (like holding option in pro tools)

In pro tools you can hold option and all tracks or whatever you have selected will do the same thing. For example you could select all you tracks hold option and put a channel strip plug in on one track and the same thing will happen to all the other tracks. I want to be able to set all my choke gro...
