Starship Interiors by TV HWY - new album of electronica made in Live 10

http://tvhwy.bandcamp.com/album/starship-interiors Hi friends, Yesterday I released the debut album of my new IDM / electronica project, TV HWY. The album is called 'Starship Interiors' and is inspired by the classic 90's era of IDM, Warp records, etc. Some of you may know me better here for my ind...

SEQ1 sequencer...no download link on website, help?

Hi folks, I saw somebody using this M4L device in a Youtube video, and I REALLY want it! However, the originally hosted wordpress page for it no longer has links to actually download the file :( It's a classic analog-style note sequencer based on the Korg SQ1. Here is the Maxforlive.com page for it:...

Re: Most important Instruments/Plugins that PROs use often?

You wanna know what the PROs do?

1. They work hard and don't look for easy short-cuts to success

2. They figure out what works best for them personally instead of asking in internet forums what PROs use.

Re: Wavetable: why can't I remove mod routings from matrix?

It works here: https://i.imgur.com/ekWKwgL.gif Gotta click the knobs/sliders in the GUI, not in the matrix. I guess it is because otherwise rows could keep disappearing when you switched params in the matrix, before you set up all the modulations you want, which would be way more annoying. (BTW, I ...

Re: Wavetable: why can't I remove mod routings from matrix?

https://www.ableton.com/en/manual/live-instrument-reference/#24-10-5-matrix-tab Click on a parameter in the instrument to make it appear temporarily in the matrix. If you apply modulation to this parameter, it will remain in the matrix. If no modulation is applied, the parameter will disappear from...

Wavetable: why can't I remove mod routings from matrix?

Hi, As the subject says -- am I the only one who finds it strange / unpleasant that once a mod routing is added to the matrix, it can never be removed for that patch? You can null the mod depth, yes, but you cant remove the routing itself.. I do *a lot* of programming experimentation when working on...

Re: Workaround for organizing FAVORITE samples & instruments?

For some reason everyone leaps to imagine the very shittest taxonomic classification system when imagining metadata. Nobody "tags" that way. Its stupid. If developers ask users if they'd like to spend their time "tagging" then of course the answer will be NO. For good reason. Nobody wants to do tha...

Re: Workaround for organizing FAVORITE samples & instruments?

I use the User Library and create folders inside it as needed, much as you do, but not to the same degree of, uh, organizational agony. I despise tag-based systems and have no idea why people want or like them. I think tagging is far more tedious / extra-work-creating than simply dragging and droppi...

Re: Are the changes to Arrangment View in L10 helping you?

Do you mean even with the current changes made to the beta? The return of the arrows made my day. I'm behind on the betas and must have missed something in the releases notes, I guess. I'll check it out tonight; but what do you mean by "arrows" ? The old method had the little "+" to add new automat...

Re: Are the changes to Arrangment View in L10 helping you?

As a very heavy user of automation, I am deeply pissed that I can no longer view specific automation tracks over-top and/or underneath specific tracks in the 'normal' Arrangement view (e.g. without this new 'toggle' behavior). AFAIC it's a downgrade of behavior and a huge bummer. I vastly prefer the...

Re: Trilian for electric and upright bass?

IMHO, Trilian blows away all the NI content. I have Komplete Ultimate, so I've tested out all the Scarbee stuff. I use Trilian all the time, and I never touch the Scarbee stuff anymore. It's just not as good! Trilian also has more flexibility and depth. But the botton line for me is that it just sou...

Echo - what is Filter Mod actually modulating?

in the Modulation tab, Filter Mod is a simple control -- you just enter an amount.

But Echo has two filters, not one; there's a high-pass and a low-pass.

So what is Filter Mod actually modulating? Just the LP? Just the HP? both?

Re: Article> In Conversation: Quincy Jones

It was a very entertaining interview, that's for sure! The part that resonates with me, re: music, is the part about the Song being more important than anything else, and how many people seem to miss the point. I think this is often especially true in electronic music. So much emphasis on the tools ...

Re: Valhalla Room vs Vintage

My vote is for Room. It's my go-to reverb, the only reverb I ever really need. I also own Vintage Verb. I like it a lot... but I don't actually use it much, because in most cases I prefer to use Room. on a silly (because I can't back it up with real, technical info) / subjective level, Room sounds m...

Re: "Mono Mixing" in a stereo plugin universe...

Those are all good points Tarekith... to clarify a bit though -- The "mono compatibility" thing e.g. the myth of the mono club speakers is sort of a whole other issue, wherein people say "check your mix in Mono" and all that... but I see that as a separate thing, since it's about listening to the en...
