Re: Mastering
The room sound is the most important in your recording. Yes you can tell if it was recorded in a garage, a spare room, a low budget studio, or a highly tuned professionals studio. IF you just listen you can tell. But what are you listening for? What does a good pair of ears focus in on to tell the ...

Re: Mastering
I agree that with a little time and the right tools you can get a decent mastering job done yourself. Would I pay anyone else to do it if they weren't a highly trained professional? HELL NO! I can achieve just as good if not better results than some kid at home putting Waves plugs on my shit. This ...

Re: Jailed for threatening Youtube rap
McLean was also sentenced to a year in jail for possessing ammunition Fuckabunchathat! They'd have given me the death penalty by now. Oh wait, they don't do that other there. I guess they're going by the old Colin Quinn joke: "Guns don't kill people. People don't kill people. Bullets kill people." ...

If you're mainly a composer, I would say, Go Logic.
If you mainly record audio, I would say, Go Pro Tools HD.
If you're a live artist, go Ableton.
so on and so on....

Re: Mastering
Seems like two different ideas to me. "Professionals whose sole function is mastering audio" is of course always going to be true, who would disupute that part? As for things in the digital realm comparing to hardware mastering gear, I guess it depends on the gear. Most mastering people I know use ...

Re: Mastering
Places like Capitol, Sterling, Bernie Grundman and Lurssen Mastering have been doing this for many years. If you throw an L2 on the track and called it "Mastered" I would have to laugh at you. I would agree with the statement.

Re: Samplitude user disses Live as 'shit for mixing in' at GS
Cue my favorite Roger Nichols article: PS: Just so you know, I do tell my clients that "I only mix on dual 64-bit processors with a 48-bit mixer fed by 16 gigabytes of memory and an on-line RAID5 disk array of 8 terabytes and a 15 gigabit-per-second fibre-optic Internet connection. You do hear the ...

Re: Samplitude user disses Live as 'shit for mixing in' at GS
I just read through 9 pages of crap. 9 pages of people telling diskowipe to show proof and all he can do is ignore it and give you a link to what someone else said. I assume that since you agree with these people that you did your own tests, and if you did your own tests you would have these to post...

Re: ezdrummer being controlled with an electronic drum kit
I had a yamaha e-drum set. The kick would always be on A0 and snare on G0. No drum program actually works with these settings. The best fix i found was getting a Roland brain. Yamaha sucks.
