The display in simpler can be confusing, since it accepts stereo files but only displays the left (?) channel.

No, it's mono - that's the original file there, in green on (audio) track 2

Why is this kick panned slightly to the left....?

Perhaps it's something glaringly obvious, but I'm not seeing it. I have a 707 kick here on midi track one, in a rack. I've recorded it two audio track 2. You can see in the screenshot that it's not in the centre, rather, it's panned to the left. And I don't know why...? In the drum rack itself it's ...

Re: Export sounds different than when played in Ableton/44100 ?

What are you playing the rendered files back on? Although purely digital, the playback system still has a massive effect on how the digital file sounds, just as CD players and turntables sound different from one to the next. As a professional in the hi-fi industry, I can tell you that the iTunes pl...

Re: Export sounds different than when played in Ableton/44100 ?

Why is VIDEO EXPORT on?? You say, there are only midi and audio tracks in your set. So why do you need to enable video export? Maybe this is the reason of your qualitiy problems. Disable video and it would be the normal good ableton sound quality. All other settings are ok, triangular dither option...

Re: Export sounds different than when played in Ableton/44100 ?

This isn't really an Ableton issue specifically. It happens with every DAW in one form or another. What sample rate/bit depth are you working in before the render? Also, read up on dithering a bit. That said, here's a quote from Ableton about the upcoming 9.1 (in beta right now). "Finally, there ar...

Export sounds different than when played in Ableton/44100 ?

This is something that I've read about before, but I can't find a satisfactory answer, so any advice would be much appreciated! Ok, I rendered out a track (from the Master) I've been working on last night. It's sounding about where I want it to be in Ableton, so the rendered out wav track was just s...

Re: Playing videos from an iPhone 4s to a projector - best way?

I haven't tried it myself, but the vjay app and an Apple 30-pin Digital AV adapter come to mind. http://www.algoriddim.com/vjay-iphone http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD098ZM/A/apple-digital-av-adapter Yeah, that's probably up there as my main contender, just didn't want to buy an app I won't use...

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+to+play+video+from+iphone+to+projector Yeah, thanks for that, superbly helpful. Cheers. You don't think I've tried Google? Been all over this for the last 7 days, and not found a suitable scenario. I'm specifically looking for the BEST option here, from people out there who...

Playing videos from an iPhone 4s to a projector - best way?

Ok, I want to connect my iPhone 4S to a projector via a HDMI cable to play backing videos in a gig/onstage scenario. I will be playing a sequence of videos from the iPhone, so need to be able to skip through them when they're done, but WITHOUT any icons showing on the projector screen (if that makes...

Re: Running Ableton from a USB Stick - quick question!

Edit: Also, streaming from RAM is always more reliable than streaming from disk Oh - and do you know how to resolve my Arrangement view issue (streaming from the exeternal stick's RAM?) Select all "AUDIO" track content in arrangement view.Deselect ram, then select ram again. Wait for the buffer to ...

Running videos live from an iPad, or something like that...

My usual live set-up is a Macbook Pro running Ableton Live for synths/backing track stuff, and a second Macbook running videos in Ableton Live. It's annoying, as I can't really get away with having everything on the one Macbook Pro (for various reasons). I have to trigger the videos to start by push...

Re: Do I need a vox preamp/compressor between mic & sound card?

Gig setup? So live.. cool. Live's compressor does the trick and if you have Live 9 you have the new glue compressor which offers an alternative. You can drop a utility plugin on the track to give it extra gain. This is especially useful if your singer is really really quiet at times as the gain/com...

No - I understand that. I'm specifically asking how to deselect the RAM button on ALL the audio clips I have in Arrangement view, as you can do in Session View.
