Re: Running Ableton from a USB Stick - quick question!

DO NOT STREAM FROM USB STICK - unless it's a high performance stick. If you do this with a normal consumer usb stick, you may experience problems (I did this before and upgraded to Samsung 840 PRO SSD on USB3.0, which produces 5Gbps) Regular consumer sticks have a 20-50mbs transfer rate while high ...

I work in Arrangement View, and it suggests here doing a select-all in Session View ... "Select...

Re: Do I need a vox preamp/compressor between mic & sound card?

...should I be using some kind of vocal preamp or compressor between the singer's mic before it goes into my Motu Ultralite sound card? If you don't like how the recorded vocals sound, and/or if the volcalist is periodically peaking the input, then yes. Also, I thought the MOTU Ultralite had a buil...

Do I need a vox preamp/compressor between mic & sound card?

So I'm reworking our gig set up, and was wondering should I be using some kind of vocal preamp or compressor between the singer's mic before it goes into my Motu Ultralite sound card? I process the vocals in Ableton (a device rack containing Ableton's EQ8/reverb/simple delay) - is there anything els...

They don't 'squeeze down'.

Some of the M4L instruments seem to have many envelopes that are designed this way.
I'd sort of resigned myself to that being it, but didn't want to accept it! :?

Weird because I though you could reduce the size of your tracks ,regardless if they are Live ones,or M4L ones? Unless someone else see your post and can b...

Re: Recording automation in Live 9 not working.....?

Ok, so when I don't have a midi controller to hand and I'm working on a demo song in Live, I would basically (up to Live 9 at least) arm the arrangement recording button, then hit the arrangement record button. Then I'd drag the knob on let's say the wet/dry of one of Live's reverb devices, or do s...
