Re: Compatibility questions about 8.1.3rc

...but I'll give it a rest. I don't have any performances for a while, and I'm now done with the project that was in 8.1.1 I've just had a frustrating year with Live 8 and I'm pretty peeved. And I'm angry with myself for allowing my career to be so dependent on a single piece of software. I spend ho...

Re: Compatibility questions about 8.1.3rc

Since I guess its clear now that Ableton relies on its customers for user testing I expect they're waiting for us to tell them if this is fixed or not in 8.1.3

Re: Compatibility questions about 8.1.3rc

its intermittent, but extremely shocking when it happens. again, it almost blew out my speakers and i thought cellobaby was going to leap out of my stomach when it happened the other day. thank god i didn't have headphones on, or i'd have popped an eardrum i have to remember to put a tiny bit of spa...

Re: Compatibility questions about 8.1.3rc

actually I guess "exploding fade bug" would be a better name, since they're not cross-fades

Re: Compatibility questions about 8.1.3rc

"exploding cross-fade bug" is my own name for it obviously! ;-) fades on the beginning and end of clips in the arrangement view...if the clips are touching and the fades are independent (i.e. not cross fades), occasionally a loud explosion-like sound will occur. i've experienced it maybe 3 times tod...

Re: Compatibility questions about 8.1.3rc

"We felt that the detailed changelogs were more confusing than helpful; to really understand the nature of a particular change would require explaining problems and solutions in far more detail than a changelog format could allow. The only way to really know if something is fixed for your particular...

Re: 8.1.1 Problem with auto add clip fades

No way am I trying another beta version. Many reasons...I'm sick of being a beta tester but, mostly its too risky that I'll forget and open a file without saving a version of it....and then I'll not be able to revert. A bunch of my songs are huge and complicated and I made the mistake of opening the...

Re: 8.1.1 Problem with auto add clip fades

"soon"

I hope so. I just experienced a FADE EXPLOSION that practically blew out my speakers and made my unborn baby practically leap out of my stomach. freaked the sh*t out of me.

Re: When is 8.1.2 coming out????????

well, the crash during my set at least got a favorable review ;-)

"Even a disastrous technical difficulty (Abelton crashing mid-song) only served to ratchet up the tension when Zoë played the song again rather than break the mood."

Re: 8.1 crashing / unrecoverable from saved undo ... advice?

your scenario is extremely familiar to me. i get lots of crashes while doing things like adding tracks, or copying and pasting clips. this doesn't solve the crashing but i've been saving like a maniac. when Live starts back up after a crash, make sure not to select "do you want Live to recover your ...

Re: When is 8.1.2 coming out????????

Don't get me wrong, Ableton knows about my problems and has responded.. I just don't know if this midi-triggered recording problem is on their fixing agenda, and if it is, when its coming.

Re: When is 8.1.2 coming out????????

had the show last night. I didn't dare do any on-the-fly recording in Live 8 with Curt on "Mad World". So I just used Live as a host and did the live looping in SooperLooper (which is what I've been trying to do for the most part since Live 8 became too risky to use onstage). That went great. Howeve...

When is 8.1.2 coming out????????

I'm in LA getting ready for a show with Curt Smith from Tears For Fears... The plan is to do a looped cello version of Mad World....and I would love to use Live 8 for this....but 8.1.1 keeps crashing on me when I trigger record using midi dummy clips. (it happens only 40% of the time I'm guessing, b...

Re: Occasional One Bar Lag When Launching Clips?

it does sound like it could be about quantization. what's your time sig?

how are you launching your clips?

i launch with midi and for me, sending the message just slightly before the barline works best.
