Re: Detroit House classic sound
All of these sound like a sample of a long running chord from an instrumental passage (you can get this from classical, jazz, soul, rock, you name it) It sounds like the chord is key mapped, and played chromatically. You could get something like this by dragging a sample of a chord into ableton's si...

Re: The library mess
improvement: searching is much faster. multiple folders can be fused into the library. step backwards: FRAGMENTED presets for devices. in other words there is no top-down view to see, for example, all operator presets (none that I can find). THIS is the part that can improve. awkward: beautiful top ...

Re: How to keep Crop Sample from padding samples?
pretty much only way I do this is selecting audio regions in arrange page and ctrl+J (consolidate) each one by hand.
i've seriously considered getting propellerheads recycle for the slicing duties, but I can't bring myself to accept the cost

Re: Monophonic-polyphonic hybrid?
If you are sequencing the notes instead of playing live, you can get this by having a near zero release time for your amplitude envelope, and stretch your midi notes to sustain just up until they reach the next note. You would have to do this by hand probably.

Re: Hardware Samplers?
panten some would say the flaws of the op-1 encourage creativity because you start doing workarounds. here is what sticks out to me: - headphone noise (unless you use a headphone amp) - clicks! clicks in the tape, clicks in the drum sampler. its hard to get away from clicks. - limited sequencers - l...

Re: Hardware Samplers?
i have an op-1 and love it. but i love working with computer also. so i use both. op-1 is very limited and has some design flaws that i try to turn around and use as "features". for me i use op-1 as a sketch pad and experiment for trying unusual approaches. i have a hard time imagining making full c...

Re: Konkrete Drums
I have the kontakt version of konkrete. It's a good pack. I went with the kontakt version because it seemed like it was more customized to the way sonic couture wanted the drums to sound. It reminds me of omnisphere for some reason, perhaps the "sheen" to all of the drum sounds -- they sound bold an...

Re: Analog Filter Frequency Envelope Problem
What I'm trying to get at is that you have many tools in the toolbox, and you are going to limit your creativity if you get hung up on the limitations of a single tool. You need the liberty to think outside of the limitations of your tools and make them work for you. All art is an illusion. No one w...
