Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

Is it possible to hack the LCD? I'm thinking so that eventually someone can apply waveform control. In general, can programmers theoretically make the Push do anything? Or are they limited to manipulating MIDI paths that are already in place so to speak, funcionality that Ableton's own programmers ...

Re: Happy with Live 9?

@JuanSOLO just one more comment. Max for Live IS coding ! I mean, you are doing M4L, so you know. I would even say that despite the fact that M4L provides a higher abstraction level than general purpose languages (i.e. python) due to its visual programming caoabilities and its focus on Audio, Video ...

Re: Happy with Live 9?

@monohusch If mouseless production is someone's goal, PUSH is not the only answer. It's not the controller alone that makes it special. It's the remote scripting that accesses the API. The API which can be accessed through remote scripting OR max for live. Sure the controllers velocity sesetive pad...

Re: Happy with Live 9?

...I am. So far I've had it about a week now and been playing around here and there, and reading this forum. I must say, it needs a bit of getting used too, if you are used to the older versions. Especially the new Midi arrangement Overdub, the Automation Arm, re-enable automation, and the session ...

Re: Is this possible in Live 9?

Regarding the manual init switch and de-syncing, you could use live.observer rather than live.object for getting notified of quant changes (avoiding de-sync) Thanks for the tip. Yeah, I'm aware of live.observer but the thing is.. In M4l6 the offline documentation currently doesn't list any access l...

Re: Is this possible in Live 9?

And this time without the beer :-) http://catslair.org/files/ReqQuantCtl2.jpg Added a small on/off toggle so that the setting can be easily turned off or back on again. Add / init the device and it will detect the current quantization value. If you then click the On/Off switch it'll toggle between ...

Re: Advanced midi editing in live 9

no idea about sysex, but extending MIDI editing capabilities via M4L should be straightforward as the LiveAPI provides access to MIDI events within clips. I checked maxforlive.com, but most of the MIDI devices deal with realtime conversion (filtering etc.) or generating sequences themselves, didn't ...

Re: Paying from NZ with a US credit card

same from Hongkong I really don't want to bitch, and capacity issues due to massive demand on launch day are kind of understandable (including sessions and downloads breaking down "in flight"), but payment gateways which don't act as payment gateways (at least for people outside of Germany) ? probab...

Re: Ableton: You've stolen £164 from me - pick up the phone!

I must admit this an amateurish act on the part of Ableton. You'd think they would have anticipated demand and had the proper systems in place. After all they have had three years to think about it! then once things calm down they spent money on an overbuilt system they don't need anymore. in today...
