Re: Ableton & Serato Announce...And it's FREE!
You know, its not that its bad. Its just that A) its not what MANY of us were hoping for, which is to scratch and juggle clips in Ableton, and B) it pretty much puts Ableton in Serato rather than the other way around. I guess if you ask on the Serato forum, people may be very happy about that, but a...

Re: Man made Global Warming is not taking place
The problem isn't that the weather is changing. The problem is the rate of change, which is exponentially greater than anything this planet has ever seen before.

Re: New Fox TV host Sara Palin
PBS is different from Fox because they tell you what you want to hear. Likewise Fox tells conservatives what they want to hear. The rest of us who prefer to think for ourselves choose to ignore both. PBS does bipartisan and deep analysis of issues, FOX is entertainment. I bet youve never actually w...

Re: portable speakers?
THanks for the heads up guys.
SubF, its just that UPS doesn't do anything other than express bullshit here. No 150kg crates. Fifty dollar envelopes. But I'll check out TNT, I've never really heard of them.

Re: portable speakers?
I'll check it out, but Vietnam is another planet bro. I paid $250 to Fedex my new laptop from the USA here. The lappy is a lot lighter than those monitors! I had them all packed up to send UPS when I left France. Just one crate full of my monitors, a few books, some clothes. Checked it all out on th...

Re: portable speakers?
Thanks for the heads up everyone. What kills me is I actually have a pair of Yamaha MSPs stuck in a garage in France, and here I am in Vietnam, no way to bring us together for less than the cost of the speakers!

portable speakers?
I'd like a set of speakers that I can use hopefully as monitors and (small) party rockers. Ideally, they'd be small enough to carry in a backpack, have a big enough sound to bump a room of 20-30 people, and quality enough that I can mix with them in the home studio without having the end result be c...

Re: [Very OT] Insulating a crawl space?
seriously, just insulate the underside of the floorboards between the joists, if you have extra insulation, do the 1-2 1/2 ft. exterior walls, but don't close the vents. The plastic on the dirt is just precautionary IMO especially if it's dry in the fall/winter, but it's not hard to do, just spread...

Re: [Very OT] Insulating a crawl space?
I'd go the insulating the floor route, rather than closing off the crawl space entirely. You run the risk of seriously damaging the building through moisture problems if you seal off ventilation- and anyway, insulating the entire crawl space means that you'll be losing heat to it. Why do that? Gener...

Re: Mackie Contol Emulation Function List for Live8
These will help: http://www.mooncaine.net/live_6_mackie_implementation_good_for_looping_with_fcb1010.htm http://home.comcast.net/~robbowers11/MCMap.htm You'll also want a copy of the Live 7 manual, which you can download on the Ableton site, because it was the last manual to contain a list of the MC...

Re: Michael Jackson was truly a world wide ambassador
15 years ago I was staying with an international group of artists who had won a fellowship grant. One was a concert pianist from Khazakstan, and his wife, an opera singer. We asked him who his favorite musician was. Michael Jackson!

Re: Apple Tablet
I would see this as the ultimate controller, a lemur killer that can be an iphone too. Fast enough to dj with live, but not really up to running cpu intensive sets.
