Re: Commodore 64 inventor dies

I'm sorry to hear this. My first computer was an Atari 800, then XLs, and various STs. I think Tramiel bought Atari during the Atari ST cycle.

I had a lot of fun and got a lot of work done on those early machines.

Thanks for posting the news, I hadn't heard.

Just buy one of everything and figure it out when you get it home.

That's what I do.

Re: Live Performance Question

Thanks tempus3r! Very helpful! Viking88: Don't assume anything, especially if you've never played at a certain venue. Talk to the people in charge well in advance. You'd be surprised what they assume about you, and how different your and their expectations are. I've played at cookouts where they did...

Re: Previewing MIDI Files in Browser Doesn't Work

whats so hard... in dragging the midi clip to the session and hitting play ??? ffs... :x What is so hard is that when you want to preview a hundred or so MIDI drum loops you just bought, you have to set up a track and drag each loop individually into the session and hit play for each one. It would ...

Re: midi drum loop preview browser default kit

Thanks for your reply. :) Does anyone have a preferred way to audition MIDI drum loops? I'm using some Groove Monkey loops, and to make them work in Live I need to use the translator tool in a Live drum track, then drag the loops in one at a time to hear them. This can't be the most efficient way, c...

Re: Maschine Dark Pressure

Many have bought Dark Pressure, but none of us has heard it yet. There is a problem with the installer (on PC, at least). NI says they're working on a fix. Hmmm, I just went back to NI to get the forum link, and the topic is gone. Maybe it's fixed? Here's another thread: http://www.native-instrument...

Re: live looping with analog keyboards and USB controllers

Another nice one! Do you mix these after playing, or are we hearing the raw mix? The stereo placement and dynamics of each instrument sounds great, either way. I'd love to see a short vid explaining a bit about what each instrument contributes, and your hardware mixer setup. I'm curious how you get ...

If you get up near Boston, I'd come to your show.

Re: Fergo midi joystick

I have the MiJoy software, which seems to work well as far as I've tested it. I can use an ordinary game controller on softsynths. It seems equivalent to the Fergo. http://www.virtuasonic.com/mijoypro.htm My problem is finding a decent hardware joystick. The little sticks with the pointy helmets on ...

Re: The recomposition of Hey Jude by JOSEPH FERRANTE

I heard this on an episode of Love Boat.

They were all dancing happily and mugging for the camera.

Then the boat sunk and left the world a better place.

(Sorry, but after the huge buildup in the post, the song was a disappointment).

Thanks for this. I'm sure it took a lot of time to do.

Where do I put the files from the archive?

Thanks!

Re: Can someone upload the APC 40 manual?

The section in the online Live Manual (help) covers everything you need, really. If you want more info, there are some documents on the Akai site: APC40 COMMUNICATIONS PROTOCOL http://www.live-laptops.com/Blog/software/akai-releases-midi-data-communication-protocol-for-apc40/ http://www.live-laptops...

Re: Recomend a good spectrum/rms/analyzer

Minor threadjack, but kinda on topic enough. Is there such a thing as a spectrum analyzer that superimposes different tracks in one display, colour coded for example? Would be useful for spotting areas of contention I think. S Yes, see the Blue Cat Audio Multi series. They are all designed for mult...
