Re: bug or limitation when recording with midi clips?

Tried automating anything that would have an effect on the vol chain vol, output level on the vsti, all works when just playing it through but not when recording into the session plane. It will be recorded as midi with a bit of extra midi automation to control the fade.

Re: bug or limitation when recording with midi clips?

Thanks for looking at this firstly. How i have it set up is like this all on one track 2 stacked vsti's that i need to play live. i start with just one sounding and have (in the same track) programed a midi clip to automate the second vsti's volume so at the push of a controller button the fade star...

Re: bug or limitation when recording with midi clips?

Yes I need a gentle but hands free 13 bar fade and it works in the clips plane while playing live I just cant (and need too) record the performance into the session so i can render my performance and get it to my partner so he can work on his parts.

bug or limitation when recording with midi clips?

Been struggling with this for a few hour today any ideas? I am working on some gig prep and have a pad sound consisting of two vsti's stacked, I want to use a midi clip containing just an envelope to mix in the second layer as at that point I am playing with both hands. Now this works fine when just...

Re: Before i throw my laptop out the window.

Just a thought but try disabling the ACPI Battery driver in the control panel. I had problems like this turned out to be a DPC latency issue caused by this driver. You can live without it if you run off the mains but running off the battery is a bit naff no warning when your running low on power or ...

Re: PC laptops

The Dell studio range did have a very bad DPC latency problem that made them unusable for audio work, i know i had a studio 17 and had to sell it on. They do look good on paper and with out this problem would really smoke i had a 7200 HD fitted as well. I think they have released a bios update to ad...

Re: pc to mac set compatibility

Thanks for getting back to me. That's kinda what I had hoped to hear I only use VST's. I wanted to be sure cause it would have been a major DOH! moment it I could not load any work up. i am going to be running on both pc and mac for a while best(or worse) of both worlds.

pc to mac set compatibility

Bare with me as this might seem a basic question but will ableton sets created on a windows pc be able to load and play properly on a mac? It will have the same version on Live 8 and the same 3rd party plug-ins, I have only been buying software that can run on both systems for a while. I just need t...

Re: Novation Bass Station.

I for one love it. Never used it as a bass synth but pitch it up and with a touch of processing you can get some good John Foxx metamatic type ARP sounds. Nice simple interface for nice simple sounds, you got to get the right tools for the job. Hope they port it over to W7 as I could not get it to r...

Re: How is Live 8 with vista 32bit?

Have you tried switching off the ACPI Battery Compliant driver in device manager? This solved a lot of regular DPC spikes for me, still not as good as my old XP machine but usable. All you really loose is the feedback to the battery state and the low bat warnings, a pain when running off batteries b...
