Re: wobble bass with mopho

Haven't tried with Mopho but with Waldorf Pulse: Let LFO modulate cutoff freq. Then control modulation amount via MIDI (Clip envelopes) from Ableton as you like.

Re: 8.1.4 - king of stability?

For me 8.1.4 (beta) feels a bit more stable than 8.1.3. I had problems when closing the GUI window of VST/AU plugins in 8.1.3. This was not on every window close, but multiple times a day. With 8.1.4 beta3 the problem seems to be gone (at least for the days I used it). Didn't tried the final 8.1.4, ...

Bring it in and make sure that drunken people can't spill their beers on it! ;)
The A8DJ is rock solid. Good choice for club usage, IMO.

Re: Sugar Bytes.. do I get Thesys or Consequence?

2 more things to check: 1.) make shure you use the VST version of Thesys (not AU!), since AU cannot send MIDI 2.) maybe you need to create a MIDI clip on the Thesys track to trigger the sequence playback. The played note selects the pattern in Thesys (I think that's the default behaviour in Thesys -...

Re: Renoise 2.5 ? any users in here ?

I have used older Renoise versions for a while because I coming from Tracker scene (Amiga Protracker) and liked this concept alot. But now I have Live. This fits the way I produce tracks much better than a tracker. But Renoise is a very good program. If you like the tracker concept you should defini...

Re: Half the peeps I know with Live have cracked versions

I also used a cracked version to 'demo' Live. I find that's a better way than using timeboxed or saving-disabled demo versions. After getting really addicted to Live I bought an official version.

Phasing effects may occur if you hear/record the same audio twice with a small delay. Maybe you have build a feedback loop back into your mixer?

Re: Live's Midi Synch Issues/Bugs discussed on CDM

I sync my Korg Electribe to Live (Korg is Slave) via MIDI cable. I have no sync issues and no drifts. You have to set the correct MIDI delays in the settings. If you change the audio latency later, you may have to adjust the MIDI sync again. Don't use track delay. That seems to have no effect. Also ...

Here on 10.5.7 and 10.5.8 it crash a lot, it's really random with Fabfilter products mainly, but it also happen with Sylenth1, Microtonic.... Re: can someone with a macbook pro give me a coolbook tutorial?

It runs in background (without a GUI or something other visible). Also it installs a driver for its own speed step handling. Note: After installing OSX updates to should check if CoolBook is still active (check the settings). Because sSometimes an update will deactivate the CoolBook speed step driver.

Re: 2 Display Monitors Benefits?

I'm running Live fullscreen on external monitor (22"). All VSTs/AUs will open on the laptop's display. That's a perfekt setting for me. Don't wanna miss it.

My strict separation of Live and VST screens allows the Laptop to be on my side board (not beside the monitor).

Re: Audio interface recommendations

I have NI's Audio8 DJ and Focusrite Saffire LE (running with OSX). The Saffire has a better performance - maybe due to the FireWire interface. I get more dropouts on high CPU load when using Audio8. The Saffire LE has 2 analog (mono) inputs on front (can be switched to intrument mode or used for mic...
