is it midi or audio (the clips)? this could work creating a midi clip that sends a command to trigger one of the clips with the "any" follow actions. the rest then picks up from there. Off course the midi clip is on a different track. you could use the "iac" trick for this, by s...

I can't believe no one has mentioned Hans Jenny and Cymatics. I think he was one of the originators of this stuff. Check out http://www.cymaticsource.com/ and in particular the video portion. Amazing stuff.

I think this was mentioned earlier, couldn't you just make a super nasty half second sample, stick it in a sampler (kontakt or something), loop it and map it to your keyboard? Then you would get the off-tempo modulation just from the loop.

Dummy clips and follow action * any

Very new to Live so I am still figuring out a workflow method. I am at the point now where I have 4 or 5 “sections” of a tune. I am working entirely in session view, as the arrangement window is not comfortable for me. Each “section” occupies about 10 scenes. As I program the entrances of various cl...

I wholeheartedly second this one. As I transition from floops (user since version 2!!!!) the thing I miss the most are the software controllers, particularly the peak controller. You can do all kinds of modulation mangling with tha thing, from sidechain compression (sorta) to running the peaks signa...

ok I figured all that out, but I cannot arm them simultaneously, and I can only get 1 channel to arm at a time. Am I missing something?

2 midi keyboards on 2 diff instruments?

I'm sure this has been covered but I couldn't find it. 2 midi keyboards going to 2 different usb ports, I want to control 2 different instruments simultaneusly. (eg my 2 octave for a bass synth, my 4 octave for other stuff). If someone would be so kind as to direct me to an answer, or just explain i...

That "place in the mix" stuff with frequencies is right on. Also, I'm no mixocologist or anything, but an engineer I know who knows his s*#t started using a highpass filter on EVERY CHANNEL- just eliminating anything beneath like 40 or 50 htz. That gets rid of subsonic stuff that can muddy...

Live + cheap laptop as midi controller?

I am thinking about using Live with a cheap laptop exclusively as a midi controller (for a Yamaha A4000, Nord micromodular, and other future modules).

Could I get away with something like a Pentium 133 running Win 98 if I was using it exclusively for that purpose? Any thoughts? Thanks
