13 ms+13 ms latency = 26 Latency compensation on. Set the track delay on the track with monitor set to auto to a value of +26 & they now match. Definitely wrong - yet strange as I'm sure that before I had to set the track delay to -26 in order for the tracks to roughly match? this is with Asio 2 dir...

O.K. i've checked it again - this time banging the latency on the soundcard up to 25 ms & yes the midi files are not in sync. after all the palaver the last time which finally led to a fix it is back to behaviour which no one who is interested in tight midi wants!!!!!!! As stated above why would any...

I also remember that the problem Chris is referring to was eventually acknowledged by one of your colleagues Amaury & subsequently fixed. Once home from work I will see if I can find the threads & messages explaining the problem in greater detail. I will also endeavour to test it more thoroughly onc...

Ok - i've had the opportunity to try this now.
I don't see any difference in the midi files.
When I tried this with the previous version of Live which exhibited erroneous behavior it was plain to see.

Please don't tell me that Live6 has reverted back to the earlier inexplicable behaviour - I was also involved in the very long discussion/explanation of why it was preferable for live to actually record what you play as you play it.
guess i'll have to check this out.

The newest version of ariesverb appears to work fine with Live now & has so many creative options it's just silly.
Far more than a reverb - excellent tweakers tool.

don't really use multibands - but native sidecahining support would be nice.
I wouldn't mind seeing either variable or soft knee compression also.

Sampler - Mute Groups & workflow enhancements.

Spent some more time today playing around with this. Anyways - no mute groups (that I can find) which makes it less than useful for realistic sounding multisampled drum libraries, specifically open & closed hihats. Another thing i've noticed is that it seems to have trouble importing drum & percussi...

thanks for confirming that for me. thought it was just the system I tried it on. Obviously it's not often that one would instantiate & then delete multiple different instruments on the same track (was jsut a case of preset browsing & trying/testing various different things ), so it shouldn't really ...

tried it with multiple operators & some large samplesets in sampler - definately doesn't release ram. however if one saves the set & then reopens it the ram useage is normal. Just a simple test set where I had swapped various instruments for a while & ended up with a ram useage of around 155 meg was...

Live 6 & memory use

Playing around with Live, messing around with the sampler. On Windows XP sp2. I opened up my task manager (checking on cpu use) & noticed that Live (with just one sampler open (APMI Akai 256 meg grand) was using over a gig of memory!!!!! Thought that was strange so I investigated further. Turns out ...

Best bet (although it involves spending more money) is to utilise a commercial sample conversion program - Extreme Sample Converter &/or CDXtract. Convert the Akai files to nki (kontakt). Then you can leave the actual samples on your external drive & import the presets into the Ableton Library & cre...
