Re: What operating system do you use?

seriously? is this the new justification of being raped up the ass you apple lovers are going with? PCs may be faster and cheaper, but at least our Macs are silent. if that's the case, that's fucking pathetic! esp. as they won't get far. my system cost me 500$, has an ssd in, and a fan that only is...

Re: What does Warping with Grey NOT YELLOW makers do?

no.

for most tracks, there's just one yellow warp marker: at the first beat (might not be the beginning btw. same applies, without any other warpmarkers, and just adjusting the transient markers (the grey ones), the track gets the same speed everywhere).

Re: What does Warping with Grey NOT YELLOW makers do?

yes, they are no "warp-point" where the audio gets stretched around. so you move the whole track. if you know traktor and it's beatgrids, it's essentially how i use those markers. i place a start-marker (a real yellow warp marker) at the first on-beat grey marker. then i set 1.1.1 to there, and warp...

^ and it still works well, is highly configurable and there's a wealth of knowledge and tried and true apps and tweaks for free or next to nothing for it. its far from dead. my main DAW is XP and since Live 8.1.2 there are no problems on it... granted its not used for surfing the web or playing gam...

Re: Picture of my NI S4

Meh, these all in one units are fine for the house and 4/4 fans, but they just can't take the abuse that hiphop and breakbeat DJ's can lay on a mixer. That might be true in a general genre sense but it shouldn't be assumed that any and all DJs who spin those genres are doing mixing acrobatics becau...

Re: What operating system do you use?

I'm amazed by the amount of people still using XP. That OS should die already. Don't quite agree there. When solely looking at the resources it takes in comparison to Vista and Win7 I'd say its an ideal solution for working with stuff like Live. except that it's very bad at managing resources well ...

Re: Light Peak

latency can only be fought by cutting steps, or doing everything faster. there are a certain minimum amount of hops from the cpu that generates a sound to the speaker that plays it (just as there are hops from the source mic to the cpu to process, and then send over). those steps currently can get r...

Re: Picture of my NI S4

Jog wheels were actually on the top of my wish list and I don't scratch at all. I need them to fine tune cue points, scrub, and make quick adjustments when there's glide. With Traktor you can also use them for track browsing and effects parameter manipulation. Also you can plug actual hardware like...
