Re: Novation LAUNCHPAD: new dedicated controller for Live!!!

i'd like a 64x64 version, lets call it the 'squaremeter' :)

^^

let me add myself to your cliche-list :) espencially max4live clichées on how it will change everything :)

about the volume control, well, you can control 8 volumes in 8 steps each :)

Re: 'Send' on current Track

yeah, it would be, in general, neat to map every per-track object for the current track. you can map everything for a fixed track (say 1, or 2, or 3), but not on the 'current' track.

well, still waiting for max4live, so i can fix those things for myself.

Re: hd speed in notebook

notebook harddrives should be fast enough. but even then, if you have a bit of money to spend, consider an ssd for much faster user experience of all you do on the pc, including os start, usage, app start, ableton live, file loading, etc.

Re: Worth running Live Sets from external hard drives...

For a pretty in-depth (if slightly excessive) exploration into the techniques and mechanics of digital backup... http://blog.iso50.com/2009/09/21/backing-it-up/ ...from an electronic musician who is also a graphic designer. Should be interesting and relevant to all concerned. nice to linking it. ye...

Re: Worth running Live Sets from external hard drives...

interesting to hear this is sorta controversial in the macworld. all the sales information for pre unibody MBPs say they capped out at 4gb, people started putting in more ram to see if it would work, but this was mostly for VMs that they were dividing their processor and memory for anyway now with ...

Re: hawtin's new NI controller

yeah, and the missing link: we have faderfoxes with tons of buttons, with tons of endless-knobs, and with tons of faders. i want with tons of non-endless-knobs, like the one on the dj2, left-0-right. 16 knobs like that would be my love-fox :) (and one with a big touchpad only..) actually, i think, i...

Re: Pre-Gig Nerves

yeh and dont worry about making a few mistakes here and there - people really dont notice and those that will notice will appreciate it, as they'll realize "yeah, he's doing it live". like i appreciated the tiny errors of deadmau5 at the nature one. without those, you would not be able to find a di...

Re: Beatmatching and beat mixing is exhausting with Live...WHY?

actually, finally gotting around to understand how to do it, i don't even need to prelisten for current digital produced and distributed tracks. set the warpmarker on the first transient clear to the first real beat, say constant tempo, maybe adjust the tempo to exact 128, or 132 bpm (depends on the...

Re: Worth running Live Sets from external hard drives...

interesting to hear this is sorta controversial in the macworld. in the windows world, this is wellknown. if you're on a 64bit os, then the os can use as much ram as it wants, and any 32bit app can use up to 4gb (it it can handle that without crash. some apps are shocked about the amount of free ram...

'Send' on current Track

Hello everyone I can select the current Track per Midi (as well as the current scene), and even launch it with a button. Is there an option to Midi-Map the current Tracks Send somehow? Not one knob/button per track, just one for the current track. I guess not, but one might ask.. :) (and i know, max...

Re: Manually aligning your warped beats

you're on live8? because setting it onto the first beat, there, where the transient marker is, allows me to mix all my tracks without any issues so far (still working on transfering all my tracks to live, though). they all work together very well. most tracks, i set 1.1.1 to the first beat-transient...
