Any SSD with a Sandforce controller (such as OCZ's Vertex 2 series) will be good. Intel SSDs or Crucial C300s are a viable alternative.
These SSDs are the same form factor (size & connectors) as any 2.5 HDD, so you just have to intstall them as any other HDD.

Re: Problem with NanoKontrol
I've only used the nanoKontrol, and it is one of the best things I've bought in years. I use it every day as a controller for my software mixer, Brainspawn Forte. It takes up very little space, has ample MIDI controls, and saves me from either mousing a laptop or carrying a hardware mixer to gigs. ...

Re: DIY Ableton foot controller build thread!
I've just done it. Here is a drawing of the tracks, for better understanding: http://img5.hostingpics.net/pics/763586P1053322XXX.jpg Nice, isn't it? So, I just tried various combinations: * when I press a thin metal sheet over the contact so as to connect red+orange+green at the same time, a note i...

Re: Studio PC Build....suggestions
Recent SSDs with advanced controllers such as Indilinx Barefoot or Sandforce will be fine. Crucial C300s and Intel SSDs are great too. Crucial has a 5-year warranty if lifespan worries you. All these SSDs support TRIM, which equates to seamless and"correct handling/cleaning" of files, as you word it...

Re: What would be faster for audio, a IDE drive or flash?
Most USB flash drives have very low data transfer rates. Even an old IDE drive with a 20Mo/seconds reading/writing speed can be ten times faster than the vast majority of USB flash drives. An external hard drive requires extra care (you won't break a flash drive by letting it fall) but performance-w...

There's also a bunch of videos about basslines on Tom Cosm's site. Don't know if they're available to everyone, though.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but this Usine template looks really great. Now we just need nice touchscreen monitors—none of those released during the past year is near as good as the iPad (only dual touch, shitty angles of vision thanks to TN panels). i didn't want as well to hijaak the thre...

Re: wimmote as fast optical touch screen controler
I was interested in that as well a few months ago. But today, with sub-300$ 22-23" 1920x1080 touchscreen monitors, is there still any use for that kind of controller?

Well, if you keep staring at your launchpad, it's normal. Look at your session view instead.

This is all way too complicated for me — at least for now — but I admire your sharing ethics. Thanks, no doubt someone will find inspiration in your project.
