Re: Running 2 apc 40,s on one lap top

I am going to provide you with no real good insight, as I haven't done it before, but I'm pretty sure that it is going to work just fine. You will each get your own colored box for the clips (different colors of course), and you can each independently move them around the clips and scenes.

Re: Can I select 2 separate audio interfaces in Lives Prefs?

You cannot select more than one interface in Live, but because you're on a Mac, you can 'aggregate' the two devices together so that they work as one. It works great.

Re: Need Help Producing in Ableton

Any real help? It's going to take a long time to get going with producing. It's not the kind of hobby you can just pick up and master over the weekend. I would really start with working your way through the entirety of the Live manual to see how the program works and how you do certain things in it...

Re: Plouge Chipsounds anyone?

You could also take a look at magical8bit . It has served my 8-bit audio needs as well as I've needed it to, and it's free! A quick mp3 I made for an 8-bit-looking Flash game styled after Dance Dance Revolution using only magical8bit and a couple of Redux'd drum loops. That song was really really a...

Re: Recommend a non Apple Monitor for Macbook Pro

Why not drop the cash on a lcd tv? I hook my macbook upto my 32" samsung all the time, Live looks much better on there than my 13" macbook screen. You can find a good 1080p for under $1,000. You don't want to do this. HDTVs are only 1080p, which means 1920x1080 resolution max. So if you get a 32" H...

Re: Recording problems with Artillery2

You'll have to make sure to solo both the midi track for triggering Artillery, and the track that Artillery is actually on.

Re: Scale effect update

Yeah lets have the computer do our scales and chords for us and not learn how to actually play. Ridiculous. Sometimes I think the computer makes us too lazy and the music ends up suffering because of it. I'm so glad I learned how to play before all the technology came along to distract us......

Re: Amp = Fail

I have yet to use it on a guitar (as I am not a guitarist), but I have been putting it on synths ever since it came out and I think it sounds fantastic. It adds a really great grit to my basslines and is definitely getting some kind of use in everything I have made in Live since it came out... so I'...

Re: APC 20 question

There isn't any software to install. The APC20 is natively supported, so it doesn't need anything to be installed. I hate to be 'that guy', but in Live, click on 'Help', then click on 'Read Live Manual', then go to page 482. Everything you need to know about setting up and using the APC20 is there.

Re: Akai apc 20 or apc 40?

Go for the APC40. Missing on the the Device Control knobs on the APC20 would be unenjoyable for me. I find they are the best part of the entire APC40

Re: No cover art for Ableton songs in iTunes??

Are the songs that you're trying to put album art onto .wav's or .mp3's. I ask this because .wav files don't have metadata like mp3s do, so you can't put album art on them. Convert your tracks to .mp3s first.

Re: Sampler question

I'm no Live expert, so there may be a more elegant way to do this, but if you duplicate the Zone 128 times, then right click in the key zone area and choose 'Distribute Ranges Equally', this will create a zone on every key, with the root note being that key, so no matter what note you play on the ke...

Re: PLEASE go back to the warping engine of v7 and before !

This warping system is also a lot more logical in the sense that the timeline is kept constant and the waveform is moving within that timeline. It just makes a lot more intuitive sense that way. If you want the sound to occur earlier in time, you just grab the waveform and move it earlier.

Re: NEWBQ: auto follow on of next scene?

If all you want to do is play 6 songs back to back why not just put it in the arrangement view? If you're just going to be playing scene 1-6 when one ends then this isn't really 'live'. Just use arrangement.
